Gubkin University
Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas (National Research University) was founded on 17 April 1930 by academician Ivan Gubkin. Today Gubkin University is the leading university in Russia in oil and gas sphere. Since 2008, a rector of Gubkin University is D.Sc, Professor Victor G. Martynov. The University provides undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs, and employer-sponsored training. There are more than 250 additional professional education programs, 19 bachelor, 11 master and 3 specialist degree programs. Additionally, there are 17 postgraduate training programs for teaching staff. 6 educational graduate programs are implemented in collaboration with foreign universities. The total number of students including branches is more than people. About 60% of the students are trained and supported from the federal budget. The university educates 1,300 foreign students from 56 countries, including China, Vietnam, Venezuela, Bolivia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Belarus. Gubkin University has 12 faculties, a military training center, a campus of 5 multistorey buildings for 4176 accommodation places and 2 recreation centers in Tver region and Crimea. It has 2 educational branches in Orenburg, Russia, and in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. Teaching staff consists of 810 people. During 2015 Gubkin University academic staff have published 1315 scientific articles indexed in Russian and foreign databases of peer-reviewed literature, and 3 educational standards were developed. The University is a part of a consortium created together with MIPT, Moscow State University, Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and a business partner PJSC "Gazprom oil". PSC "Lukoil" and JSC "Zarubezhneft" companies also participate in partnepship programs. The university was named after Maksim Kirovich Ammosov, an outstanding statesman, the son of the Yakut nation and one of the founders of Yakutia and Kyrgizstan statehood. There are 6 scientific research institutions such as the Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of Health, the Institute of Applied Ecology of the North, the Institute of Regional Economy of the North, the Institute of A.E.
