Pan-European University
The Pan-European University is a private institution of higher education established in 2004 in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. The University offers programs on all three levels of higher education at its 5 faculties (Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economy and Business, Faculty of Mass Media, Faculty of Informatics, Faculty of Psychology). The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is fully applied to all courses offered. International co-operation with partner universities abroad is one of the main goals of the University which follows international trends in its study programs by emphasizing its international orientation. Thus, from the very beginning, not only a considerable number of foreign teachers were included in the staff of the University, but also its students were given the opportunity to take part in study programs at partner universities abroad. The University welcomes, therefore, students from universities outside the Slovak Republic on the basis of an exchange scheme. The University involves actively in the ERASMUS+ mobility framework of the European Union. During their studies at PEU, the students may choose from courses taught in Slovak or in Czech language as well as a number of courses taught fully in English or German. English programs are prepared to follow to combine the expertise of the faculties of PEU to offer creative, interdisciplinary and practice oriented approaches in education. Using its international partnerships, the PEU is active in initiatives of international academic cooperation with universities in the European Union, the former Soviet Union, the Balkans region, Southeast and East Asia and Latin America.

BISLA is a non-profit organization and the first liberal arts college in Central Europe. It opened its gates to the first class of students in September 2006. BISLA was founded on a decade of prior experience, being the natural heir to the Society for Higher Learning (founded in 1996) – an ‘invisible college’ that graduated hundreds of exceptionally talented students from various humanities fields. BISLA provides its students with a broad introduction to the field of humanities. Students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in political science and minors in philosophy, anthropology, arts and international relations. Liberal arts education fosters learning through critical thinking, reading and writing, and it places much importance on discussion among teachers and students. The class size is about 20 students, who are further divided into smaller discussion sections. Focus is on developing skills rather than on rote learning. Aktuálne poskytuje Katedra informatiky vzdelanie v dvoch základných oblastiach aplikovaná informatika (bakalárske štúdium a magisterské štúdium), učiteľstvo akademických predmetov (bakalárske a magisterské štúdium). V rámci štúdia sa študenti naučia prácovať s informačnými a komunikačnými technológiami na všetkých úrovniach. Na základe štúdia databázových technológií a programovania dokážu absolventi zoptimalizovať svoju prácu s údajmi a naučia sa ovládať počítač nielen používateľsky, ale i prostredníctvom viacerých programovacích jazykov (Delphi, C++, Java, PHP). Nevyhnutnou súčasťou znalostí poskytovaných všetkým študentom patria hardvérové technológie, informácie o počítačových sieťach a operačných systémoch. V rámci štúdia nezabúdame ani na nevyhnutnú teoretickú prípravu v podobe matematických disciplín a predmetov teoretickej informatiky (umelá inteligencia, modelovanie a simulácia, optimalizácia a pod.), pri učiteľskom štúdiu na didaktické predmety. Významnou odlišnosťou oproti iným pracoviskám je skutočnosť, že Katedra informatiky pre svojich študentov poskytuje komplexné elektronické materiály, priestor na diskusiu, komunikáciu s vyučujúcimi i medzi študentami navzájom, zadávanie a odovzdávanie úloh a v niektorých prípadoch i skúšanie a testovanie prostredníctvom e-learningového systému Moodle. Vo vedeckej oblasti sa katedra zameriava na modelovanie a simuláciu procesov v špecifických prostrediach, kde je výskum zameraný na tri základné prístupy k modelovaniu procesov vychádzajúce zo základných typov použitej abstrakcie: na funkčný prístup, na prístup špecifikácie správania a na štrukturálny prístup.V oblasti objavovania znalostí a analýzy dát sa špeciálne sa zameriava na prípravu dát, ktorá predstavuje časovo najnáročnejšiu fázu celého procesu a modelovanie dát v závislosti od času. Výskum je tiež zameraný na tvorbu koncepcie a obsahu vyučovania informatických predmetov na základných, stredných a vysokých školách a na vývoj konkrétnych aplikácií a metodík na podporu elektronického vzdelávania.

Socratic Institute
The Socratic Institute originated from the belief that learning can be practical and for use in real life. Educated, well informed and enthusiastic people can change their communities and cities. Lawyers, physicians, artists, psychologists, scientists and economists are being educated, as solving contemporary problems requires a holistic view and collaboration. In Socratic Institute we organize practical educational program for university students and graduates under the age 32 from various study fields. We network our students and alumni, and we lead them to social leadership in order to become example and active movement for changes in Slovakia. Since 2012 Socratic Institute has prepared more than 100 young people and has built a strong network of local leaders collaborating on new projects in Slovakia 3. For public we organize various lectures, discussions, one-day festival, we publish books, educational videos and e-learning. During the study, each student has to work on his / her own project to achieve a real change in their community, city, region, school, or work. They learn to work in a team, to co-operate, to raise money and to communicate in the media. The process of creating, implementing and promoting the project is led by the team of Socratic Institute and mentors from the graduates' ranks. Through 10 workshops, we teach students the skills, knowledge and attitudes that are not represented in a standard university study. The individual workshops are led by leading Slovak and foreign lecturers. We bring topics such as: vision and self-development, civic engagement, working with the media, alternative economic systems, public participation in the Slovak legal system, global education, intercultural facilitation and European wilderness.

Euha - European University Hockey Association
The EUHA is a non-political, independent legal association. The main objective of the Association is the development of sports activities of young people/students, the development and promotion of ice hockey and other sports among the students of daily study form at colleges and universities. The objective also includes satisfying, supporting and developing the interests and hobbies of young people and improving the physical and mental capabilities in the area of sports, physical culture and creating conditions for strengthening the health of young people. Another objective of the Association is the support and development of the education and pedagogical competences of its members. The Association intends also to contribute to overcoming intercultural, information and communication barriers and to cooperate internationally across Europe, to support and participate at the activities of civil associations, foundations, other communities with similar objectives by establishing, organizing and managing the European University Hockey League (abbreviated as the “EUHL”) and by arranging exchange programs between the “EUHL” participants. The Association takes care of the development, prosperity and protection of interests of its members and participants of the “EUHL“, ensures conditions for the performance of their sports and education activities and provides them with technical and consulting services. The EUHL is the combination of a well-though-out athletic program alongside a solid schooling system, contributing to the growth and quality of life for all EU communities involved. The EUHL is on the right path to creating a new physical culture including supporting and developing the interests of ice hockey, the hobbies of young people and improving physical and mental capabilities in the areas of sports and creating conditions for strengthening the health of young people.
