Heritage Malta
Heritage Malta is the national agency for museums, conservation practice and cultural heritage. Created by the Cultural Heritage Act which was enacted in 2002, the national agency replaced the former Museums Department. Initially Heritage Malta was entrusted with the management of museums, sites and their collections. However in 2005, the agency’s responsibilities increased when it took over the former Malta Centre for Restoration to become the national agency responsible for conservation. Heritage Malta seeks to provide its various audiences with an enhanced experience during visits to the various sites and museums. Cultural heritage can act as a catalyst for Malta’s tourism potential and consequently contribute significantly to the economy. The agency has a specific educational section with special educational programmes targeting children of different age groups as part of organised school visits. These programmes are based on the local educational curriculum and address specific areas of study in an edutainment approach. Heritage Malta is also committed to bring culture closer to the people through facilitating interpretation and accessibility, both physical and intellectual. Whether through temporary exhibitions, public lectures, heritage trails or other specialised events, the agency ensures that it lives up to the motto of ensuring a future to our past.

St John's Co-Cathedral Foundation
St John’s Co-Cathedral is a historical landmark and a place of worship located in Valletta, Malta. In the late 16th century, the Co-Cathedral was built to serve as the Conventual Church of the Order of the Knights of St John, dedicated to their patron saint, St John the Baptist. The Church was designed by Girolamo Cassar and over the years the interior was enriched with the finest works of art. Today, the Co-Cathedral is managed by The St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation. The Foundation is composed of three members appointed by the Archbishop of Malta and another three members appointed by the Office of the Prime Minister. In 2001 the Foundation was established to administer and conserve the Co-Cathedral and its Museums. Its mission revolves around ensuring the effective conservation and management of this architectural monument and sacred place of worship. Since its establishment, The St John’s Co-Cathedral Foundation has been entrusted with the custodianship of Malta’s artistic treasures while welcoming thousands of visitors annually. It is the duty of the Foundation to manage and preserve the Co-Cathedral to be cherished for generations to come. Research, cultural knowledge and community engagement are promoted by the Foundation.
