Island health is a medical centre offering world class diabetes treatment to the Mauritian population. We base our protocols on international evidence-based medicine, adapting closely the South African and Canadian guidelines and shaping them to the Mauritian needs. We have the latest equipment, all the necessary tests to detect the related conditions as well as wound care to prevent limb loss. We insist on an initial package for our diabetic patients so that they gain maximum benefit from our clinic. Our initial check up includes all relevant blood tests, urine tests, eye tests, foot check, nerve tests, blood supply tests for the feet, heart ECG and if required stress ECG. Hair transplant, skin grafts and other minor skin surgical procedures will also be offered. Other specialists will rotate from time to time to offer a world class care for our local population. We will also offer packages for complete check-ups for males and females as well as cancer screenings. Through our South African network, we can facilitate advanced treatments which are not available in Mauritius, in the best centres in South Africa.
