BACK GROUND Zambia is implementing the transformative agenda under Vision 2030 and seeks to attain Universal health coverage leaving no one behind (NHSP 2017-2021 and vision 2030). Despite significant investments in the health sector with improvements in the health indicators High under five, infant and maternal mortality, ZDHS 2018 which shows that Zambia neonatal, under-five, infant and maternal mortality rates are still unacceptably high (ZDHS 2018). The National Health Strategic Plan 2017-2021 has a transformative agenda that focuses on promoting health for all through building robust and resilient health systems. The national strategic plan focuses on delivering quality health services as close to the family across the continuum of care while leaving no one behind. This calls for innovation in providing promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and palliative care services as close to the family settings as possible. The attainment of universal health coverage for Zambia needs broad participation by all stakeholders and demands innovation in realizing the transformative agenda for Zambia. However, the attainment of Universal health coverage for Zambia is currently threatened by the high patient-to-health care worker ratio which stands at Although Zambia has made strides by increasing the training for human resource for health, public sector financing has not been able to absorb this critical workforce in public service. The majority of this newly trained but unemployed workforce are youths. Nevertheless, the government has continued creating a conducive environment for private sector participation in achieving universal health coverage in Zambia. SRA mobile health care cooperative was specifically formed to respond to the current high level of youth unemployed among the qualified health workforce, whilst contributing to the nation’s achievement of universal health coverage for all.
