Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC (AGL) is an energy company, co-owned by Norway’s Clean Energy Invest and India’s Tata Power. The company implemented a 187 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Plant. It began operation in the spring of 2020. Shuakhevi HPP is the only project in Georgia’s energy sector funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The Shuakhevi HPP plays a vitally important role in Georgia’s energy security. Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC is committed to the economic and social development of the Adjara region and raising the living conditions of communities in the project area.

Mtkvari Hpp
GCF is the sole owner of Mtkvari HPP, a hydropower plant located on the Mtkvari River in southeast Georgia, with a designed capacity of 53.0 MW and expected annual energy generation of 251.5 GWh that equals 2% of total electricity consumption in Georgia. Total investment size amounts to $230 mn. The project has a build, own and operate (BOO) structure and is currently in the construction phase.
