Kingdom Of Eswatini Academy Of Sciences
The Kingdom of Eswatini Academy of Science (KEAS) was launched in 2018 by the Minister of Information Communication and Technology through a group of scientists, called ‘Founding Members’. It had its first committee in October 2020, as an official organization. It was then registered at the Eswatini Registrar of companies in December 2022. The Academy is a non-political, non-sectarian and non-profit organisation. Mission KEAS’s mission is to study, promote and develop all aspects/disciplines of sciences. This is meant to provide evidence-based solutions to national problems; to inspire and encourage the use of science and technology; and to increase science and technology expertise in the country. The inclusion and promotion of women in science is also one focus area for KEAS. Vision KEAS aspires to be the go-to organisation for science and technology and scholarship in Eswatini, with national and international scientific connections. The Kingdom of Eswatini Academy of Sciences (KEAS), is an autonomous science organisation established by a group of scientists to pursue the objectives set out below: 1. To recognize, support and promote excellence in scientific research performed by scientists who are in Eswatini; 2. To promote contacts and collaborations among scientists in Eswatini and between them and the global scientific community; 3. To strengthen the global position and role of scientific research performed by Eswatini scientists; 4. To advise the government on the quality of all sciences in Eswatini, as well as on scientific aspects of social and economic issues; 5. To provide information on all sciences, build support for science and sensitise the general public on Science related issues; 6. To advise the government on issues related to science teaching and science education in the country;
