The Lynch Caribbean Story The chronicles of Lynch Caribbean reflect a marriage and evolution of two market leaders in the Barbadian industry: Lynch Insurance Brokers and Sentry Insurance Brokers. Lynch’s story dates to as early as 1859, where it was then known as James Alsop Lynch & Company, founded by James Alsop Lynch born of a “free-black” community in Barbados. Remarkably, what began as a small commission agency overcame the challenges of the slavery era and evolved into a risk advisory powerhouse with over loyal regional clients; handling in excess of $100M in Annual Premiums; in what today is known as Lynch Insurance Brokers. On the Sentry side, the story begins of a boy from Bequai, product of a sea-fearing family and son of a Sea Captain. Stephen Ollivierre spent most of his boyhood between school in Bequai and sailing the Caribbean Seas with his family assisting in any way needed and developing crucial life skills and long-lasting Caribbean memories across many journeys. Today Stephen Ollivierre is the co-founder of Sentry Insurance Brokers: one of the leading and fasting growing Insurance Brokers in Barbados. Sentry was founded in 2005, and Stephen maintained a trading license in St Vincent after co-founding CGM St. Vincent 1990. Along the way, Stephen also became a pilot.
