Minsk Dialogue Council On International Relations

The Minsk Dialogue Council on International Relations is a think tank focused on international affairs and security in Eastern Europe. Its mission is to provide an open and impartial platform for research, discussion, and dialogue on regional and global security issues. Minsk Dialogue events regularly convene international experts, high-level officials, and diplomats, fostering the exchange of ideas across borders. The Minsk Dialogue team and its expert network produce analytical reports, policy papers, commentaries, backgrounders, and conference non-papers, which are widely shared with key international stakeholders. Core objectives- Strengthening security and stability in Eastern Europe and beyond- Supporting Belarus in advancing its sovereign interests within the international system- Enhancing the capacity and influence of Belarusian experts and academics in international relations and security studies.

United Nations In Belarus

The UN Office in Belarus was opened in 1992. The main priority of the UN activities in Belarus is to support the country in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. 17 SDGs are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with improvement of health and education, reduction of inequality, and spurring of economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve oceans and forests. The UN Country Team Leader is the Resident Coordinator, who is appointed by the UN Secretary-General and is the highest-ranking representative of the UN development system in the country. The UN Country Team includes 7 resident UN Agencies, that have permanent representative offices in Belarus: • International Organization for Migration (IOM); • Joint UN Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS); • UN Development Programme (UNDP); • United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA); • UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR); • United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) • World Health Organization (WHO). The extended UN system in Belarus also includes the World Bank (WB), International Monetary Fund (IMF) and International Finance Corporation (IFC). The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) and International Labour Organization (ILO) have their National Correspondents in the country.
