The China-Australia Chamber of Commerce in Beijing (AustCham Beijing) was established in 1996 and has as its goal the advancement of the broader Australia-China business relationship through the effective representation of its 250 members. We achieve this through building connections between our members and broader stakeholders in Australia and China, delivery of effective advocacy programs and provision of information and insights through our business events and online platform. Core to our ability to deliver on our mission are our member-led industry forums. All of our events have a strong industry focus. We release White Papers and industry specific position papers throughout the year, an important medium for communicating member priorities. The Chamber regularly engages with government and other key stakeholders on issues of concern to members, and actively contributes to the public debate. Importantly, AustCham China runs unique programs for students of Australian universities and recent graduates which provide opportunities for work experience, mentoring and cultural training. Our members believe in the importance of investing in our future business leaders, and this is a Chamber priority. AustCham China works closely with its sister Chambers in Shanghai and Hong Kong, under the AustCham Greater China banner. The Chamber maintains a good working relationship with the Australian Embassy and with the various Australian government departments in China. AustCham is a non-profit organisation which operates independently from government. It is funded entirely by our membership and Chamber activities. Together with our sister AustChams in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, we work to promote strong trade and investment links between Australia and China.

Innovation Norway is represented through the Embassy's commercial section. The Embassy is responsible for Hong Kong and Macau. The Ambassador in Beijing is also accredited to Mongolia. The Embassy compound is situated in the diplomatic area Sanlitun, about 6 km northeast of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It was designed by the Norwegian architect Rolf Ramm Østgaard and completed in 1972. The residence of the Ambassador is also situated in the Embassy compound. The Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization (GEIDCO), with its permanent office domiciled in Beijing, China, is a international organization among willing firms, associations, institutions and individuals who are dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of energy worldwide. Located in Shenzhen, China, UNESCO-ICHEI was approved on November 13, 2015 by the 38th General Conference of UNESCO. It is the 10th Education Sector UNESCO Category II centre in the world and also the 1st Category II centre for higher education in China. Relying on the advantages of Shenzhen's information and communications technology (ICT) sector and drawing upon China's experience with the massification of its higher education, UNESCO-ICHEI aims to meet the local demand for quality higher education resources and to support Asian and African countries to improve the quality of higher education and promote educational equity. With the above aims, UNESCO-ICHEI has been carrying out higher education cooperative projects with countries along the Maritime Silk Road.
