Pacific Islands Forum
The Pacific Islands Forum is the region’s premier political and economic policy organisation. Founded in 1971, it comprises 18 members: Australia, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. The Forum’s Pacific Vision is for a region of peace, harmony, security, social inclusion and prosperity, so that all Pacific people can lead free, healthy, and productive lives. The Pacific Islands Forum works to achieve this by fostering cooperation between governments, collaboration with international agencies, and by representing the interests of its members.

Who South Pacific
Pacific countries and areas span thousands of islands home to 3.4 million people. Our priorities are articulated in the Pacific islands WHO Multi-country Cooperation Strategy 2024-2029: support countries to strengthen health systems and services to achieve universal health coverage; reduce the burden of noncommunicable diseases; and enhance resilience to health emergencies and other health threats including climate-related impacts. WHO in the South Pacific provides direct support to 12 Pacific island countries and areas: Fiji, Kiribati, French Polynesia, Guam, Nauru, New Caledonia, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Pitcairn Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Wallis and Futuna, and Vanuatu.
