International Enforcement Cooperation Working Group

The International Enforcement Cooperation Working Group (IEWG) is a dedicated subgroup of the Global Privacy Assembly (GPA and formerly the ICDPPC), founded at the 38th meeting of the GPA in Marrakesh, Morocco in 2016. The IEWG is committed to fostering global collaboration in privacy enforcement. Our ethos is rooted in the belief that effective privacy protection requires coordinated efforts across borders. The IEWG's mandate is to promote and support enforcement cooperation among privacy authorities worldwide. We aim to enhance the collective ability to address privacy challenges through shared knowledge, resources, and strategies. As a key player within the GPA, the IEWG focuses on practical activities that advance privacy enforcement. This includes publishing guidelines, developing investigatory tools, and facilitating closed enforcement sessions. We also engage in capacity-building initiatives and collaborate with other international networks such as the Global Privacy Enforcement Network (GPEN). Through our work, we strive to uphold and promote the highest standards of privacy protection and contribute to the global dialogue on data protection and privacy rights.
