Undp Papua New Guinea
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the leading United Nations organisation fighting to end the injustice of poverty, inequality and climate change. Working with our broad network of experts and partners in 170 countries, we help nations to build integrated, long lasting solutions for people and planet. Development challenges in Papua New Guinea are as diverse and complex as the country itself. To respond to these challenges, UNDP in PNG concentrates its efforts on building the country’s capacity to promote inclusive, pro-poor growth, effective governance, and sustainable and resilient development. We help our partners in identifying relevant solutions to today’s complex, trans-boundary development challenges. Usaid Png Lukautim Graun Program Lgp
Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) biodiversity is among the world’s richest – and most at-risk. This rich biodiversity is fundamentally important to the long-term well-being of its population. But it is threatened by weak regulation of natural resource use and development. The PNG Lukautim Graun Program (LGP) funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by DT Global, is working to reduce the primary drivers and threats to biodiversity in PNG by strengthening the management of customary lands, and focusing on areas with an exceptional variety of terrestrial and marine life. The program also incorporates livelihood programming under the White House’s Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP).

Usaid Png Sustainable Landscapes
USAID’s Papua New Guinea Sustainable Landscapes (PNGSL) program is a five-year, cooperative agreement that aims to transform Papua New Guinea’s forests and peatlands into a key pillar of the country’s future low-carbon economy. PNGSL will engage with public and private sector stakeholders to define shared challenges and implement win-win solutions to improve the management of PNG’s forests and peatlands, thereby reducing deforestation, forest degradation, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The activity will catalyze sustainable change by strengthening the capacity and commitment of local and national actors to better manage and sustain PNG’s forests. The period of performance is September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2027.
