Azman Davidson & Co
We are a full-service legal firm with over 40 lawyers practising in nearly all areas of civil law. Our History When in 1964, Dato’ William Stanley Walker Davidson arrived on Malaysian shores to settle down, he set about applying for jobs at law firms. He struck a chord with Gibb & Co, an Ipoh-based firm with a vibrant practice representing mining companies, and he remained there from 1964 to 1970. In 1970, due to a change in partnership arrangements, Dato’ Bill Davidson moved from Gibb & Co and started with the firm of Lewis & Co, which was named after its original senior partner, JMM Lewis. The practice of Lewis & Co also revolved largely around the tin mining industry, then the backbone of the Malaysian economy. Here too, a shuffle in partnership arrangements took place. The result was that on 1st November 1981, the firm Azman & Co in Ipoh, and the Ipoh office of Lewis & Co, merged to form Azman Davidson & Co. Dato’ Davidson became the joint senior partner of the new firm. Immediately after the merger, Azman Davidson & Co established a branch office in Kuala Lumpur. In 1985, Datuk Francis Tan joined the firm and became the firm’s managing partner soon thereafter. Both he and Dato’ Davidson are currently consultants with the firm. The Kuala Lumpur practice progressed. Ipoh was declining as far as the mining business was concerned, the Klang Valley’s economy attained an unprecedented liveliness. It was during this time that Azman Davidson & Co began looking for full-time lawyers with additional areas of expertise. The Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur branches of the firm went their separate ways in 1995. The present firm of Azman Davidson & Co grew out of the Kuala Lumpur branch. Today, we are a full-service firm with over 40 lawyers practising in nearly all areas of civil law.

Jayadeep Hari & Jamil
When we formed the partnership of Messrs Jayadeep Hari & Jamil in 1997, our single most important objective was to step away from the mould of the traditional law firm; too formal, too distant and too far removed from clients’ day-to-day commercial needs. We realise that today’s clients want today’s practical and viable solutions, not yesterday’s academic positions. Thus, with emphasis on creating custom made solutions and practical problem solving, we grew intimately with our clients and made their business, our business. We endeavoured to learn the ins and the outs of their industries and the environment in which they exist; and of what mattered most to them. We set out to become our clients’ Preferred Legal Partner.
