V.Vernadsky National Library Of Ukraine

The main academic library and main scientific information centre in Ukraine, one of the world's largest national libraries. The collection of the V.Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine contains more than 15 million items. Its basis form the large book collections of 18th-19th centuries. This unique collection includes books, magazines, serials, maps, sheet music, fine arts materials, manuscripts, rare printed books and incunabula, newspapers, and documents of untraditional materials. The library has the most complete collection of Slavic writing, archives of outstanding world and Ukrainian scientists and cultural persons. The holdings include the collection of the Presidents of Ukraine, archive copies of Ukrainian printed documents from 1917, and archives of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The library serves governmental bodies such as Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, the President’s administration and Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. For these bodies, the library provides not only traditional library services, but also prepares reviews and analytical materials. The library serves as a research institute in the fields of library science, bibliographical sciences, book sciences and information technologies. The library publishes the magazine Library News, annually hosts the number of international scientific conferences and other events.

National Historical Library Of Ukraine

The National Historical Library of Ukraine was founded in 1939 on the base of two museums’ holdings and the library of metropolitan Flavian. The Library was created in order to promote the development of historical science and education. The Library is located on the territory of the National Kyiv-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Reserve. It had a name of the State Historical Library of Ukraine until 2009. Nowadays the Library has a national status according to the Presidential Decree of 30.09.09 № 780/2009 «About granting SHL of Ukraine the national status».

Kpi Library Бібліотека Кпі

Бібліотека КПІ є однією з кращих вузівських бібліотек України і Європи. Заснована в 1898 році в Київському політехнічному інституті им. Iмператора Олександра ІІ, сьогодні бібліотека КПІ обслуговує більше 45 тисяч читачів за рік, із них – 37 тисяч студентів. Щоденно бібліотеку відвідує від 1300 до 1800 користувачів. Бібліотека має 15 спеціалізованих читальних залів на 1500 місць і 5 абоненементів: науково-технічної літератури, навчальної літератури, соціально-економічної і художньої літератури, періодики. Фонд бібліотеки налічує майже 3 млн. приміриків видань, із них – половина підручники і навчальні посібники видання та інформаційні ресурси з профілю університету. У бібліотеці представлені нормативно-технічна документація, література з питань мистецтва, спорту, лінгвістики, культурології, народознавства. Бібліотека передплачує більше назв періодичних видань за профілем університету. Бібліотека є осередком культурного життя не тільки студентів, науковців та викладачів КПІ, а й простих киян. Музичні вечори, мотивуючі лекції, літературні зустрічі та інші цікаві заходи, що проводятся в бібліотеці відкриті для всіх бажаючих. Бібліотека КПІ на сьогодні є доступною широкому колу читачів. З її фондами може працювати будь-який житель нашої планети.
