CATL Hungary (CATH) On August 12, 2022, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co, Limited (CATL) officially announced to build its second Europen a battery plant in Debrecen, Hungary. CATL has 13 production sites around the world very similar to the one in Debrecen, so the company has extensive experience in the design, operation and monitoring of the production, based on industry 4.0 technology. The factory in the Southern Industrial Park of Debrecen will supply both cells and modules to European automakers. Debrecen is located at the heart of Europe, and within close proximity to some of CATL’s important customers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Stellantis and Volkswagen. CATL’s Debrecen plant enables the company to better respond to customer needs in a timely manner, improve CATL’s global production network development and help accelerate e-mobility and energy transition in Europe.
