Elso Holdings
Elso Holdings is one of the oldest, environmentally conscious cleaning product manufacturers in Namibia. The company was founded in 1956 by Mr Elmar under the name Elephant Soap Company. Some 42 years later, Elephant Soap Company became ELSO Holdings when Mr Rene Rusch and his wife Anke acquired it and to keep the strong heritage it still uses the image of an elephant in the logo. The company was founded on conservation principals with the original owner seeing an opportunity to utilise the fat of the elephants that were culled in the Etosha National Park to produce soap. This culling was necessary due to severe over population, and through this the famous blue bar of soap with the Elephant logo was born. Those were humble beginnings and today Elso Holdings manufactures biodegradable, toxic free cleaning liquids and powders, paper and cleaning equipment suitable for a variety of markets. It is the strategic objective of the company to be the leading manufacturing company in Namibia as well as the African continent.
