APM Terminals MedPort Tangier is one of the most technologically advanced, efficient and safest terminals in the world. Strategically located in the southern straits of Gibraltar, it’s the Maersk Group's second container terminal at the Tanger Med port complex. Designed, constructed and operated by APM Terminals, it currently offers a capacity of 3.3m TEUs, which will reach 5m TEUs with the completion of its expansion programs, totaling US$ 800m in investment. Officially inaugurated in June 2019 by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, APM Terminals MedPort Tangier services some of the world’s largest container ships during their port calls at Tanger Med 2. Ultramodern, the terminal, locally known as TC4, is a major transshipment hub in the Mediterranean and a real asset for Morocco’s logistics performance and the development of its exports. APM Terminals MedPort Tangier relies on young and highly qualified staff. It has created over a thousand direct jobs. Committed to its social and environmental responsibility, it strives to create a better future for its neighboring communities and deploys concrete sustainable development actions, in line with its vocation as a “green terminal”.
