Caronte & Tourist S.p.A. is a private navigation company, founded in 2003 from the merger of the two historic shipping companies, the Calabrian Caronte and the Sicilian Tourist Ferry Boat. Both companies commenced their business in 1965, dealing with connections between the ports of Reggio Calabria and Messina, as an alternative to the State Railways. Each year, more than passengers travel with the ships of the Group, covering the maritime links to and from Sicily, from the high-speed ferry on the Strait of Messina, to the cabotage on the Salerno - Messina line through Cartour S.r.l. The Group also covers the connections with Isole Minori through NGI, Maddalena Lines and the shipping division of Siremar, a historic Sicilian maritime company recently acquired, through the subsidiary Caronte & Tourist Isole Minori. Amongst the most efficient in Europe, the fleet ensures pleasant, fast and safe crossings.

Nel 2010 inauguriamo il reparto cargo, grazie al quale tutte le imprese di trasporto possono prenotare gli spazi nave per i loro mezzi su più di 300 linee marittime in Europa. Oggi, per offrire una gamma più completa di servizi accessori alla movimentazione di prodotti, utilizziamo magazzini doganali e fiscali, e il nostro il reparto doganale è specializzato in ogni tipo di operazioni di sdoganamento. Dal 2010 Morfimare, a seguito delle rigorose verifiche previste, ha ottenuto dall’Agenzia delle Dogane il Certificato AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) quale Operatore Economico europeo Autorizzato “affidabile e sicuro", per gli standard appropriati e la pronta solvibilità finanziaria. Nel 2011 sempre l'Amministrazione Doganale le ha rilasciato anche l’autorizzazione ad effettuare operazioni doganali in esportazione in procedura di domiciliazione, con notevoli vantaggi per i clienti. A Luglio 2015 siamo stati nominati agenti della GNV per il servizio di linea regolare tra Bari e Durazzo e ad Agosto dello stesso anno agenti portuali della Grimaldi Lines per il servizio shortsea regolare tra Venezia/Ravenna/Bari/Patrasso.
