She attended medical school at the Mona Campus (Jamaica) of the University of the West Indies where she attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2003. Following internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados, Dr. Agard spent one year working in a community-based medical environment at various polyclinics across the island and during this time, gained valuable exposure to a diverse group of specialties. Following this, she worked with the aging at the Geriatric Hospital for two years before joining a comprehensive family practice at Brigade House in 2007. It was working in this setting that fostered her love for family medicine. In 2012, Dr. Agard formed a partnership which launched Hart Medical Clinic where she practiced general medicine until December 2018. For over 10 years, Dr. Agard has served as the attending physician at the Spooner’s Hill Senior Citizens Nursing Home and cares for a number of home-based patients. Dr. Agard has a special interest in community fitness and obesity management given the nation’s high rate of obesity-related chronic illnesses. She has a love for Ballroom and Latin dancing, is an avid hiker, past member of the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and a member of the Rotary Club of Barbados.
