Bms Engineers
BMS Engineers is a process design company specialising in the use of membranes to treat process fluids in the mining industry. Our services include conceptual design, on site pilot plant testing, full scale design and commissioning, and off site technical support. Our expertise in membranes has seen BMS Engineers develop the world’s first uranium membrane plant, the Acid Recovery Plant (ARP) at the Kayelekera Uranium Mine in Malawi. This plant was commissioned in March 2013 and has exceeded its design acid recovery. This was followed by the worlds second uranium membrane plant, the Bicarbonate Recovery Plant (BRP) at the Langer Heinrich Mine in Namibia. Commissioned in March 2015, the BRP achieved its design bicarbonate recovery, resulting in significant cost reductions through reduced chemical use, along with lower water consumption. Utilising membrane technology, the plants recover the IX eluant fluid by concentrating the uranium eluate stream. BMS Engineers also have the exclusive rights to utilise patented Solvent Recovery Technology (developed with Paladin Energy) which can recover up to 85% of the solvent fluid. BMS Engineers work closely with specialist membrane manufacturers to develop membranes specifically suited to improving our clients process.

Bowdens Silver
Bowdens Silver is the largest, undeveloped silver project in Australia and one of the largest globally. Located near the village of Lue, approximately 30 km east of Mudgee in Central New South Wales, Australia, the Project comprises mineral tenements covering 2,007 square kilometres acres) across the mineralised Rylstone Volcanics on the western edge of the Great Dividing Range. Since its discovery in the 1980s the Project has had several owners and been subject to extensive exploration and development studies. Its appeal is in no small part due to its proximity to nearby towns with access to infrastructure, water supply, the power grid and a highly skilled, local workforce. In June 2016, the Project was bought by Silver Mines Limited after a downturn in the silver price saw the previous owners cease operations. A new and invigorated recommencement of activities is now under way and plans are in place for a more condensed and enhanced development. Our viable farming operations will continue alongside the development of the mine and together these integrated activities will bring many benefits to the district by way of direct employment, the supply of support industries, economic investment into the local communities and support for local development, educational and sponsorship initiatives.
