Poduzeće Almos d.o.o. Kutina osnovano je 2001. godine kao privatna green field investicija. Konstantnim unaprjeđivanjem uvjeta rada, kvalitete i produktivnosti cilj je biti pouzdan partner našim kupcima i dobavljačima. Lijevamo odljevke različitih dimenzija i masa u rasponu od 0,03 do 5,2 kg. Naša mogućnost je lijevanje odljevaka do max. 15 kg. Na raspolaganju su nam preše za visoko tlačno lijevanje od 300 t do 1350 t. Za vrijeme procesa lijevanja, legura se ubrizgava velikom brzinom i visokim tlakom kroz hladnu komoru u alat. Procesom lijevanja pod visokim tlakom moguće je proizvesti velike količine tankostjenih odljevaka i odljevaka drugih kompliciranih oblika. Odljevke odlikuje glatka i čista površina pa je samo u posebnih slučajevima potrebna strojna obrada odljevaka. U cilju osiguranja kvalitete ulazne sirovine koristimo se spektralnom analizom kemijskog sastava aluminijskih legura. Centar za ljevarstvo - SIMET kao ustrojstvena jedinica Metalurškog fakulteta uspostavljen je u okviru infrastrukturnog projekta sredstvima Europskog fonda za regionalni razvoj, Operativnog programa za koheziju i konkurentnost 2014—2020. u okviru poziva „Ulaganje u organizacijsku reformu i infrastrukturu u sektoru istraživanja, razvoja i inovacija“ Centar za ljevarstvo SIMET (KK.01.1.1.02.0020) u partnerstvu sa Sisačko-moslavačkom županijom. Cilj projekta je stvaranje znanstvene infrastrukture kao i stvaranje i unaprjeđivanje suvremenih znanstvenoistraživačkih kapaciteta za istraživanje, razvoj i inovacije (IRI) u području razvoja materijala i tehnologija u polju metalurgije na području Hrvatske i Europe. Provedba ovog projekta potaknut će proces inovacija, stvoriti triple helix efekt, odnosno ujediniti znanstveno istraživački sektor, nositelje vlasti i gospodarstvo čime će posljedično utjecati i na gospodarski rast. Istraživanje, razvoj i inovacije u okviru Centra za ljevarstvo-SIMET osmišljeni su u dva smjera: • dizajniranje i razvoj inovativnih materijala s poboljšanim svojstvima i • razvoj proizvoda, izrada prototipa i alata s naglaskom na inovacije i optimizaciju procesa i postupaka proizvodnje.
