Koninklijke Hoogovens, voluit: Koninklijke Nederlandse Hoogovens en Staalfabrieken NV (kortweg Hoogovens of KNHS) was een staal, later ook aluminium producerend bedrijf in Velsen en Beverwijk. Tegenwoordig is het onder de naam Tata Steel IJmuiden een onderdeel van Tata Steel Europe. Het bedrijf werd opgericht op 20 september 1918. Het bedrijf werd gefinancierd door de Nederlandse Staat, de Gemeente Amsterdam, Nederlandse ondernemingen en grote particuliere investeerders. Het werd gesitueerd in IJmuiden, vanwege de goede ligging aan zee en afvoermogelijkheden via het Noordzeekanaal. Voor de overheid diende het "eigen" staalbedrijf om de afhankelijkheid van geïmporteerd staal te dempen; de Nederlandse staat zou zich tot in de jaren 90 met het bedrijf bemoeien in de vorm van financiële steun. In fuseerde het met British Steel tot Corus. Onder schaakliefhebbers is het vooral bekend als hoofdsponsor van het Hoogovens Schaaktoernooi, tegenwoordig Tata Steel-toernooi, een van de sterkst bezette schaaktoernooien ter wereld.

Ons, internationaal opererend, bedrijf in Venlo is bijna 100 jaar jong en behoort tot de grootste spanstaalproducenten van Europa. Spanstaal wordt toegepast in betonnen (prefab) bouwelementen en -constructies voor huizen, gebouwen en infrastructurele werken. Door de grote vraag naar nieuwe woningen en infrastructuur, in zowel Nederland als ons omringende landen, zijn er de komende jaren afzet- en groeikansen. De kostprijs van de producten bestaat voor ruim de helft uit het ingekochte staal dat grote fluctuaties in beschikbaarheid en prijs kent. De kunst is om onze fabriek en staf (samen 135 fte) strategisch en operationeel optimaal af te stemmen op deze marktbewegingen. Kansen benutten en bedreigingen afwenden. Van Peperzeel Bv
Van Peperzeel is de grootste inzamelaar van oude accu's in Nederland. De jaarlijkse inzameling bedraagt vele duizenden tonnen oude loodaccu's. Wij werken o.a. voor landelijk opererende grossiers in de automobielbranche. De oude accu's worden gereed gemaakt voor recycling en geleverd bij erkende verwerkers in Europa. Daarnaast is Van Peperzeel actief in de in- en verkoop van diverse non-ferro metalen. Zo'n vijfduizend ton non-ferro metalen en non-ferro residuen (te denken valt aan oude kentekenplaten, velgen, autokatalysatoren en divers industrieafval zoals slak en draaisel) passeert jaarlijks de weegschaal. Verzinkerij Meerveldhoven B.V
Vakkundig en met aandacht. Thermisch of ‘volbad’ verzinken is een procédé, waarbij we het te behandelen metaal na een grondige reiniging en een fluxbehandeling onderdompelen in een bad met gesmolten zink. Het zink in dit bad heeft een temperatuur vanaf circa 440 tot 560°C (de temperatuur verschilt, afhankelijk van het materiaal, het doel en het proces), waardoor het staal of de legering een reactie aangaat met het zink. Zo vormt zich een duurzame zink-ijzerlegering op het materiaal, met daarbovenop een laagje zuiver zink. Dit procédé wordt om verschillende redenen toegepast: onder andere om het betreffende materiaal goed te beschermen tegen corrosie of om het klaar te maken voor een volgend bewerkingsproces (het kan bijvoorbeeld worden voorzien van een duplex-coating). Tegelijkertijd kiest men vandaag de dag ook vaak voor deze specifieke oppervlaktebehandeling omwille van de authentieke, ruwe, ‘natuurlijke’ uitstraling die het eindproduct zo krijgt. Voor dé perfecte, egale zinklaag. We kunnen uw materiaal en voorwerpen ook centrifugaal verzinken (dit wordt ook wel slingerverzinken of trommelverzinken genoemd). Hiervoor maken we gebruik van twee centrifugale verzinklijnen, waarvan er één wordt toegepast voor de behandeling van de wat grotere onderdelen (tot 1 meter) en één voor de bewerking van kleine, in serie vervaardigde materialen zoals bouten, moeren, draadeinden, scharnieren, nagels, kabelklemmen en sluitringen. Door de onderdelen en het materiaal na het verzinken te centrifugeren met behulp van een speciale centrifuge, wordt het overtollige zink bijna volledig verwijderd (min of meer ‘weggeslingerd’) en ontstaat een mooie, gelijkmatig verdeelde, egale deklaag met een hoge oppervlaktekwaliteit en een grote ‘maatvastheid’.
