Located in Vancouver on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, SMOC is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1992 with the purpose of building, preserving, and studying a world-class collection of historical fashion and textiles. The organization has a dedicated Board and volunteers who maintain and develop an impressive array of activities and programs. SMOC hosts eight events annually to engage the public in fashion education events and raise funds to care for the collection. Items from the collection are on display at the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum and are currently featured in the exhibition Dressed for History at the Museum of Vancouver. SMOC aims to foster cultural connections within the community, expand public programs and digital access to the collection, and establish a new space to store and care for the collection.

Promoting the arts Its flagship small-press fair, Expozine, showcases print publications of all kinds—books, graphic novels, zines, and more. Société Des Arts Technologiques Sat
Founded in 1996, the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT] is a non-profit organization recognized internationally for its active, leading role in developing immersive technologies, augmented reality and creative use of high-speed networks. With its triple mission as a centre for artists, research and formation, SAT was created to support a new generation of creators/researchers in the digital age. A gathering place for diverse intelligence, curiosity, knowledge and talent, the Society for Arts and Technology is a live creative laboratory whose unconventional experiences bring together the tangible and the unexpected. Within its 4 400m2 premises stands the Satosphere, a permanent modular dome, dedicated to the development and presentation of 360° immersive experiences. With a diameter of 18 meters and height of 13 meters, filled with 157 speakers, this unique equipment complements the studios and workshops housed inside the SAT. The SAT has in a natural process become a space for pivotal events, where everything is possible, at once stimulating and showcasing trends in technology applied to arts and design. SAT has an organizational model that has led it to be the first North American member to be invited to join the Open Living Labs (ENoLL) network, a European initiative regrouping more than 170 research and innovation centres all over the world, demonstrating how its activities impact social and economical spheres.

Musée Régional De L'outaouais
L’Outaouais est une des régions du Québec les plus diversifiées, tant dans sa composition culturelle que son territoire. Elle est pourtant peu connue des Québécois, y compris des citoyens qui y habitent. Dans ce contexte, la création d'un musée suscitant un sentiment d'appartenance et de fierté devient essentielle pour tous les acteurs du milieu. En 2015, le Réseau du patrimoine de Gatineau et de l’Outaouais (RPGO) lance le projet d’une nouvelle infrastructure muséale régionale en Outaouais. En 2022, le Musée régional de l’Outaouais (MRO) voit le jour. N’ayant pour l’instant pas de lieu permanent, il occupe la maison Fairview pendant la saison estivale afin d’offrir une programmation pour la population. Situé dans le centre-ville de Gatineau, le Musée permanent se voudra un lieu de cohésion pour une région aux identités multiples en faisant apprécier la complexité des interactions sociales et culturelles au fil des siècles. Il cherchera à être une maison commune intégrée au territoire et à favoriser son développement culturel, social et économique. Il se voudra conversationnel, où les paroles se démultiplient et s'enrichissent mutuellement.

Écomusée Du Fier Monde
Fondé en 1980 et incorporé en 1982, l’Écomusée du fier monde est à la fois un musée d’histoire industrielle et ouvrière de Montréal et un musée citoyen. Reconnu et soutenu par le ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec et par le Conseil des arts de Montréal, l’Écomusée met en valeur l’histoire et le patrimoine du Centre-Sud de Montréal. Microcosme de la Révolution industrielle au Québec de la seconde moitié du 19e siècle, ce quartier a été témoin des impacts de l’industrie sur le travail et sur les conditions de vie des familles ouvrières. L’Écomusée du fier monde développe une pratique muséale axée sur l’éducation populaire et met en place des projets participatifs, en étroite collaboration avec la population, les institutions et les organismes du quartier. La mission - Mettre en valeur les thématiques du travail et de l’engagement citoyen à Montréal, dans leur contexte historique et actuel- Développer une muséologie citoyenne pérenne en utilisant les activités et les pratiques muséales comme outils d’éducation populaire et d’autonomisation- Contribuer au développement de notre territoire écomuséal par la mise en valeur de son patrimoine et de sa culture, en partenariat avec des acteurs du milieu- Favoriser le partage de notre expertise et les échanges aux niveaux local, national et international, et ainsi contribuer au développement des communautés. Plus qu’un bâtiment, l’Écomusée est un outil citoyen. Il permet de découvrir un territoire, d’aborder des enjeux sociaux et de favoriser le dialogue. L’Écomusée considère chaque personne qui visite le musée comme un acteur dans la cité et un potentiel citoyen engagé.

The Montréal Science Centre Foundation
The Montreal Science Centre Foundation was created to contribute to the creation, funding and operation of the Montreal Science Center. The foundation funds permanent exhibitions and school programs of the Science Centre. More than 90% of the funds raised annually are reinvested in development. Among other initiatives, the Foundation’s annual event, “Celebration of Science”, helps fund various projects such as exhibitions, educational workshops and sponsorship programs for schools and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
