Northwest Airlines History Center
Our mission is to preserve and display the memory of Northwest Airlines’ colorful history; to tell the stories of carriers merged and allied with NWA, and the stations and regions they served; to show how the legacy of NWA carries on into the future; and to inspire youth to pursue aviation careers and interests. We are an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation registered in the State of Minnesota; volunteer-staffed and volunteer-managed. The NWAHC has no operational or financial tie to Delta Air Lines, but Delta allows us to use still-active NWA intellectual property. Our museum location across from MSP International Airport inside the Crowne Plaza AiRE Hotel is open to the public Thursdays - Saturdays. Our archive location at the Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie is not open to the public but supports research and historic preservation. We have a long-term goal of building a permanent museum in the MSP metro area with airfield access that will include full-size airliners, training equipment, and associated materials; extensive displays; classrooms and lab space; and community amenities to both celebrate commercial aviation and also encourage youth to grow their STEM and social studies knowledge and pursue careers in travel-related industries. Before we start advocacy for specific airport sites and general fundraising, the NWAHC is growing its Board of Directors to add strategic skills, and building financial and operational models to use in reaching out to various communities of partners, museum users, and potential donors. We are always seeking volunteers to work as docents at our museum location, as well as to help with library, research, and communications projects. NWA, Republic, North Central, Mesaba, and associated companies touched every aspect of society in the Northland, and the stories we hear and tell are fascinating - please consider joining us!

Center For Creative Photography
The Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona, is recognized as one of the world's finest academic art museums and study centers for the history of photography. The Center opened in 1975, following a meeting between the University President John Schaefer and Ansel Adams. Beginning with the archives of five living master photographers—Ansel Adams, Wynn Bullock, Harry Callahan, Aaron Siskind, and Frederick Sommer—the collection has grown to include 270 archival collections. Among these are some of the most recognizable names in 20th century North American photography: W. Eugene Smith, Lola Álvarez Bravo, Edward Weston, and Garry Winogrand. Altogether there are over eight million archival objects in the Center's collection including negatives, work prints, contact sheets, albums, scrapbooks, correspondence, writings, audiovisual materials and memorabilia. In addition to whole archival collections the Center also actively acquires individual photographs by modern and contemporary photographers. There are currently more than works by over 2,200 photographers. A library of books, journals, and exhibition and auction catalogs including many rare publications plus an extensive oral history collection complements the archival and fine print collections. The combined art, archival, and research collections at the Center provide an unparalleled resource for research, exhibitions, loans, and traveling exhibitions.

The Florida Inventors Hall of Fame recognizes these inventors, inspires the next generation of innovators, and works to bring attention to Florida, “as a state where research, innovation and discovery thrive, and where great inventors have lived and worked” (SR 1756). The Florida Inventors Hall of Fame was founded in 2013 by Paul R. Sanberg, President of the National Academy of Inventors and Distinguished University Professor and Executive Director of the Center of Excellence for Aging and Brain Repairs at the University of South Florida, who identified the need for an organization within the state’s innovative ecosystem that would raise awareness of Florida inventors to national prominence while recognizing their tremendous impact on society. Along with co-founder Dr. Judy Genshaft, President Emerita and Professor of the University of South Florida, Dr. Sanberg brought together some of the best minds from the nation’s innovation communities to create the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame inaugural Advisory Board. Recognized by the Florida Senate with Senate Resolution 1756 and adopted on April 30, 2014, the Florida Inventors Hall of Fame has become an integral part of the state’s innovative ecosystem, attracting interest and funding as well as furthering the growth of the state’s innovation sector.
