Prisma - Pacific Region International Summer Music Association
PRISMA (Pacific Region International Summer Music Association) operates a classical music festival and summer music academy that runs for two weeks every June in Powell River, British Columbia. Our in-depth orchestral training program is designed to provide advanced students and young professionals with the essential tools to win a position in a professional orchestra. Since the very first PRISMA Festival held in 2013, our organization has mentored over 500 pre-professional classical musicians from 32 countries. Some have gone on to win positions in professional orchestras around the world; others enjoy busy careers as soloists, chamber musicians, and instructors. Renowned artists from the world’s finest symphony orchestras teach, mentor and perform at PRISMA. The PRISMA Festival Orchestra is charismatically led by Arthur Arnold, former music director and conductor of the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.

Cosmopolitan Music Society
The Cosmopolitan Music Society (“Cosmo”) gives amateur adult musicians and singers the opportunity to learn and perform quality concert band and choral music, turning music lovers into music makers. We have three performance bands that rehearse, respectively, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and our Chorus rehearses on Mondays. We also offer a beginner band program that gives the opportunity for new players to learn an instrument, to read music and work toward a performance skill level that will enable them to play in one of the three bands. Under professional music direction, our concert bands and choirs perform at all levels of ability, from beginner to advanced. Since 1963, Cosmo has been an active and respected member of the Edmonton and area arts scene. Our season begins with rehearsals starting in early September and running through to early June. We take breaks at Christmas and Spring. All of our ensembles enjoy a variety of musical repertoire.
