Our goal is to make sure people of all abilities are able to participate in music making in a way that is meaningful to them and will enhance their well-being. Our goal at Lotus Centre is to solve this problem through innovative and collaborative approaches that allow all learners to reach their full potential. To address this issue, we fulfill our mandate through a wide variety of activities: • Direct-service programming: we have two locations in Ottawa where we provide private and group music lessons, after-school program, camps and workshops to the special needs community. Our teachers are highly-trained and are passionate about creating the best possible learning experience for all our students. Curriculum is individually developed for each student to help them reach their goals in a fun, relaxed environment. Our approach is to meet the students where they are and build on their strengths so that they can gain confidence through music making. • Community collaborations: We work with organizations like the National Arts Centre Orchestra and local school boards to bring awareness and opportunities beyond our four walls. Through these collaborations, we reach hundreds of children and adults in the community through music making workshops and concerts in which participants can see, feel, and play musical instruments and attend concerts by world-class musicians. • Research: Through active research, we are able to contribute to knowledge on best practices in special music education and share our work with the academic community. We regularly publish our work and present our studies at conferences internationally. • Teacher training: We are proud to partner with the University of Ottawa to offer Canada’s first and only certificate program in special music education. All music teachers will encounter students with special needs in their professional lives, and equipping those teachers with tools and strategies is critical in creating more opportunities for people with special needs to learn music.

Rhythmitica Online Music Academy
Rhythmitica world music academy was established in 2015 in Toronto, Canada. The academic tutoring of traditional world music to interested students across the globe, connecting cultures via music, identifying localized instruments and instructors, and preserving local music culture are the main goals of Rhythmitica. Immerse yourself in a different culture and learn music, starting at any level. Music is the universal language, and we make a more beautiful world by connecting diverse cultures through their music. OUR STORY We believe that producing and educating art and ideas are among the noblest jobs in the world. Academic education of world music and promoting its art has been our goal from the beginning and we aspire to keep our endeavors towards this goal. Through the years, many have contacted us and have stated that they cannot find a professional instructor for world music in their respective location. Even if they had been able to find a teacher, the quality and the authenticity of the teachings have been a constant concern. This conceived the idea to form and establish Rhythmitica online music academy. First, we collected a powerful team of educators and experienced teachers and performers. Then, with the help of an experienced team of web producers, we made an exclusive platform for educational content. Just like that, Rhythmitica has become a bridge to connect our excellent teachers with students across the world.

Singing Out
Singing Out is Toronto’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Community Chorus. We are a mixed-voice, non-auditioned chorus – a relative rarity in LGBTQ communities across North America. But Singing Out is more than just a choir. Above all, Singing Out is a community. Our mission is PRIDE. MUSIC. BELONGING. We are proud of who we are, of our history, and of our accomplishments. We show our pride through music that entertains as it speaks to us and about us, to our audiences, and to the wider community. We create a warm and welcoming space where everyone who enjoys singing and learning can find a place to belong and have fun. We welcome different levels of experience, as well as diverse backgrounds and identities. We sing together, and we sing out. Musically, we cover everything from the sacred to the silly, in many different styles (pop, showtunes, classical, folk, jazz) and languages. We do not require an audition to join, although some “voicing” may be necessary to determine which section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone or Bass) best fits your vocal range, if you aren’t sure.

Stomp Records
It seems highly unlikely that a small independent record label like Stomp could survive for six months, let alone for two decades. Founded in Montreal in 1994 with the goal of releasing, supporting and uniting Canadian ska bands, the odds were fully stacked against them. Luckily Stomp Records didn't, and still doesn't give one single fuck about odds. Those early years saw some pivotal releases from Gangster Politics, The Kingpins, Flashlight, The Undercovers, Subb and of course label founders, punk-ska superheroes The Planet Smashers. Learning as they went along, the label blundered boldly ahead adding international bands like New York Ska Jazz Ensemble, Nicotine, The Toasters and Big D & The Kids Table to the ever-growing roster. Right around this time, the entire music industry decided to shit the bed with the advent of Napster and file sharing. Luckily again, Stomp was one of the first indie labels to embrace early DRM-free digital technologies and managed to get the music to the fans without any bullshit nonsense. With the help of an incredibly hardworking roster of dedicated bands, Stomp expanded by creating a full-service, in-house booking agency, publicity company and management wing. As the label diversified so did it's taste in music. Phenomenal bands from across the subcultures joined the Stomp family. The Real Mckenzies, The Flatliners, The Creepshow, Belvedere, Bedouin Soundclash, The Dreadnoughts, The Sainte-Catherines, Peacocks, The Brains, Saint Alvia, Down By Law, Ann Beretta and Snuff just to name a few. I could go on forever. Instead, let's do some (more) shameless bragging. Today, Stomp Records has released over 150 albums. You can find Stomp Records music distributed in more than 130 countries. Stomp artists have (somehow) received a handful of Juno nominations including 1 win. There's even a few gold and platinum albums hanging crookedly on the walls in the office. Musical alumni can be found in bands like Simple Plan, Walk Off The Earth, The Stills, Patrick Watson and Broken Social Scene. Past staff members have gone on to be badass ballers at companies like iTunes, Vice, evenko, Dare To Care and several mental asylums. The current crew is a shockingly talented bunch of misfits, jokers and ne'er-do-wells. Looking back at everything that's changed over the last 20 years, two things have remained remarkably constant. The love and support of the fans as well as the dedication and hardwork of the bands on the roster. We sure as shit wouldn't be around if it weren't for them. So what better way to celebrate surviving 20 stupid years than to completely annihilate our collective livers with a series of knock-down-drag-out, raging parties across the country. Come join us at one of these insane shindigs so we can raise a glass or two and toast to another 20!
