Paranoid Earthling
Paranoid Earthling is considered to be the first rock band to rise from the ancient city of Kandy. Since participating at TNL onstage 2002, a talent showcase program hosted by a Rock n Roll inclined Music Station in Sri Lanka opened up avenues to the band from being actively involved at Rock Company gigs 2003-2007, to organizing their own gigs where they exhibit energetic and charismatic performances to date. Their debut tour to India in September 2009, allowed Paranoid Earthling to recruit fans from New Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. Later that year the Band rocked thousands of fans at the South Asian Bands Festival in the historic backdrop of Purana Quila better known to many as the Red Fort. In October 2012 the band performed at the Sound Central Music Festival in Kabul, Afghanistan. In 2016 the band was invited to perform at ‘Nations for Peace’ held in Gurgaon India, which brought seven bands from six of the South Asian countries to reiterate the importance of maintaining regional peace. Paranoid Earthling has released many EPs following the release of their debut EP titled ‘Rock N Roll is My Anarcy’ in 2005. Their video ‘Bringing Down the Sun’ released for the International World Peace Day amidst the Civil War in 2008 was premiered on local TV and was nominated for the State Media Awards. In August 2022 they released 'Reign' which was followed up by the release of the band's debut album 'Illusion Empire' in November 2023. On 20 September 2024, the band was incorporated under The Companies Act No 7 of 2007 under the name of Paranoid Earthling Pvt Ltd bearing the company number PV 00310227. While the Paranoid Earthling band logo is a registered trademark under the Intellectual Property Act No 36 of 2003.
