Festival Dranouter
Festival Dranouter mag dan wel één van de oudste festivals van het land zijn, ook na 43 edities is het festival meer dan ooit ‘alive and kicking’. In 2015 verhuisde het festivalterrein naar de nieuwe locatie met zicht op de flanken van de Kemmelberg. De vernieuwde festivalformule met een combinatie van straffe concerten, verrassende randanimatie, leuke kinderprogrammatie en veelkleurige foodstands wordt fel gesmaakt door zowel pers als publiek. Festival Dranouter blijft een gemoedelijk en gezinsvriendelijk driedaags muziekfeest, in één van de mooiste landschappen die ons land rijk is. Dankzij onze jarenlange samenwerking met Natuurpunt zetten we ons ook in om deze prachtige omgeving te beschermen. De muzikale slogan van het festival luidt ‘Festival Of New Traditions’. Met deze duidelijke keuze voor folk en roots nemen we een unieke positie in binnen het festivallandschap. Een fijne selectie van internationale en Belgische acts, afgewerkt met onbekende parels, sieren de affiche. De artiesten treden aan op 4 podia waarvan de kerk er één is. Trefwoorden die we in alle geledingen van de opleiding laten terugkomen. Onze lectoren, studenten, oud-studenten, de omgeving en de lucht: ze zijn doordrongen van deze levensattitude. De wereld van popmuziek is een wereld van beleving. Daar begint het mee, daar eindigt het mee. Alles daartussen is het structuren van en het werken hiermee. Dit betekent vluchtigheid, inspelen op momenten en mogelijkheden, het gevoel veruitwendigen in een geluid, een sfeer, een genot. Een genot dat bestaat uit kennis en kunde. Een genot dat groter wordt en de wereld verkent door het in banen te leiden. Onze opleidingen beantwoorden aan de realiteit van de muzieksector. Studenten worden opgeleid tot muzikant, muziektechnieker of muziekmanager, die de nodige professionele ervaring bezitten, een hand-on mentaliteit hebben, zich op een praktisch vlotte manier bewegen in de sector en creatief én ondernemend zijn. Ze zijn professionals die geen landsgrenzen schuwen, platgereden paden durven verlaten en daarbinnen beschikken over het nodige vakmanschap om een eigen beroepspraktijk vorm te geven. De opleiding biedt niet enkel de nodige grondstoffen om uit te groeien tot een vakexpert binnen de eigen discipline. Tijdens tal van projecten leren studenten samenwerken, initiatief nemen, creatief denken, zichzelf uitvinden, op zoek gaan naar nieuwe mogelijkheden en ontwikkelingen. Het spreekt voor zich dat we studenten zoeken die reeds een forse bagage en kennis hebben in de pop en rock en graag in teamverband aan de slag willen gaan. Wees dus gewaarschuwd: enkel met een grenzeloze motivatie, een onnavolgbare goesting en bakken doorzettingsvermogen kan je op PXL-Music studeren.

And to fully understand KNTXT, the techno concept guided and hosted by Charlotte de Witte, you must experience it. KNTXT has already profiled itself as a force to be reckoned with in the Techno landscape. Its objective is a clear one: to serve a quality techno experience driven by both national as international acts, while staying true to a genuine underground spirit. All of this has resulted in some mind-boggling editions showcasing an impressive all star wall of fame and also receiving praise from several media such as Mixmag, DJ Mag and Red Bull Elektropedia (Best Really Big Party). Muziekschool Lochristi Vzw
De muziekschool werd opgericht in 1989 en stond onder leiding van Gina Lefebure. Sinds 2009 draagt de school de naam "Muziekschool Lochristi vzw". In juli 2013 werd de leiding overgedragen aan Simon Neyt en Joeri De Decker. Deze school staat los van het reguliere DKO wat de mogelijkheid biedt om eigen klemtonen te leggen. Naast een muziekafdeling waar men zowel instrumentles, notenleer als groepsles (ensemble, combo, kamermuziek.) kan volgen, is er een woordafdeling bestaande uit voordracht en musical.

Ataneres Ensemble
Ataneres Ensemble is a dynamic, independent string orchestra with roots in Leuven, that aims to bring classical music closer to the general public. The ensemble is conceived as a horizontal musical collective, without conductor, and where every musician has a say on the final artistic product. Besides the established repertoire, we focus on original combinations across different music and artistic genres. Since its foundation in 2017, our ensemble has gained fame with numerous crossover projects. These include both classical and contemporary repertoires, which are often minimalist and avant-garde, such as combinations with film or word art. We put an explicit focus on Belgian contemporary music. Within this genre, a whole series of recordings have already been released with highly praised reviews and have received attention from national broadcasters and international streaming platforms. The ensemble was awarded the Fuga Trophy in 2019 for all their work on Belgian music. Ataneres consists of a core of prize-winning and leading chamber musicians and is supplemented by musicians from the large symphony orchestras in Belgium. We collaborate with renowned soloists, conductors and artists from home and abroad. Concertmasters of the ensemble are Nicolas Dupont, Nadja Nevolovitsch and Hugh Desmond who work closely with artistic director Wim Spaepen. Ataneres not only strives to be a creative forerunner in artistic projects, but we also aim to be innovative in cultural entrepreneurship. We actively pursue collaborations with major international players such as Siemens, we have our own support network with the "Friends of Ataneres" and we also engage in alternative forms of funding.

De Kreun
De Kreun is the birth place of Sonic City festival, an underground/niche 2-day music fest, inspired by All Tomorrow's Parties (ATP). Sonic City has been curated by SUUNS, Deerhoof, Dälek and Millionaire and will have its fifth edition in december 2012. De Kreun has been around for about 30 years, and works closely together with 4AD (Diksmuide), 4Ecluses (Dunkerque) and Le Grand Mix (Tourcoing). In addition, cooperations with other Belgian/French music venues such as l'Aéronef in Lille happen more than sporadically.

Leuven University Choir
The Leuven University Choir (Leuvens Universitair Koor, LUK) was founded in 1969 by a couple of students of the University of Leuven. It comprises about a hundred singers, both men and women. Throughout the years, the LUK has become an important part of the Leuven and Belgian cultural and academic scene, without losing track of its roots as a student organisation. As it is exclusively made up of enthusiastic students, the choir maintains a youthful character. Auditions take place at the beginning of each academic year. Since September 2019, the LUK is under the direction of conductor Kevin Hendrickx.

Matrix Centrum Voor Nieuwe Muziek
Nieuwe muziek - ruim gesteld: kunstmuziek van na 1950 - vormt de rode draad doorheen de verschillende activiteiten van MATRIX. Met een collectie van duizenden partituren, audio-opnames, boeken en tijdschriften beheert MATRIX één van de belangrijkste documentatiecentra over nieuwe muziek in Europa. Muziek uit Vlaanderen vormt de kern van de collectie, maar minstens evenveel aandacht wordt besteed aan muziek uit een internationale context. Geïnteresseerden kunnen 24 uur per week terecht in de leeszaal van het documentatiecentrum, en onze medewerkers geven graag advies. Vanuit de collectie, die heel wat onuitgegeven materiaal bevat, ontwikkelen we ook regelmatig projecten rond hedendaags muzikaal erfgoed. Daarnaast ontplooit MATRIX een veelzijdige educatieve werking, toegespitst op nieuwe muziek. Het veld van de nieuwe muziek vormt immers een hyperdivers, soms ingewikkeld landschap. MATRIX wil een brugfunctie vervullen tussen de levende nieuwe muziekpraktijk, haar traditie en de kennis daarover, en het brede publiek. We ontwikkelen daarvoor activiteiten voor heel uiteenlopende doelgroepen, van kinderen tot volwassenen en van absolute beginner tot (pre-)professioneel. We werken daarbij zowel vanuit het perspectief van de luisteraar als dat van de muzikant.

DE LA MUSIQUE AVANT TOUTE CHOSE Quatre Mains is so much more than a piano store. It is a place where pianists and music lovers engage in a passionate conversation. Where national and international artists find a home and are given the space and resources to work, make music and relax. Concerts are occasionally held in our August De Schrijver salon. Follow all updates about concerts on our Facebook page. Artists can also count on us outside the walls of Quatre Mains for renting a piano, among other things. We work closely with concert halls, but also rent directly to pianists or events. Quatre Mains Pianos is a meeting place for everyone who loves music.

We pakken de dingen dus graag net iets ‘anders’ aan dan ‘de rest’. Daarom streven we naar diversiteit in de bezetting van ons koor op vlak van gender, leeftijd, genre, repertoire én een eigen sound. Het koor is multi-inzetbaar en streeft ernaar een begrip te worden in Vlaanderen.
