Abridged Pause Recordings is an independent record label founded by Alexandre Julien in February of 2008, after an initial plan to end his first record label Mortification Records. Originally started as a post-black metal, post-metal, post-rock and ambient record label, Abridged Pause Recordings has since shifted its focus to solely releasing music from Alexandre Julien's bands. Abridged Pause Recordings is one of the many imprints under the Abridged Pause Enterprises umbrella company, which also includes Abridged Pause Publishing, Mortified Studios, Abridged Pause Apparel, Abridged Pause Productions and Abridged Pause Blog. Abridged Pause Blog, hosted on the Abridged Pause Recordings website, has achieved fame on its own for publishing lengthy archival retrospective biographies and interviews of defunct bands and record labels, all written by founder Alexandre Julien. Abridged Pause Recordings has released post-metal, post-black metal, atmospheric black metal, psychedelic black metal, depressive black metal, sludge metal, sludge-core, atmospheric sludge metal, screamo, avant-garde metal, math metal, math rock, post-rock, experimental post-rock, ambient, dark ambient, black ambient, shoegaze, dream pop, minimalism, ethereal, melogaze and artbient.

Afrowaveto

While there has been tremendous growth globally in the culturally-driven sounds of Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Reggaeton, etc, there has been little momentum in the Canadian market in relation to exposure and opportunity for artists within these genres. Toronto has a large population of African, Caribbean, and Afro-Latino creatives but this is rarely reflected in the music festivals, showcases, panels, or songwriting sessions held within the city. And, youth from these backgrounds need to see themselves reflected in the art landscape of the city. AfroWaveTO is trying to fill the void by not only providing a platform for local artists of colour to showcase their work but also with intentional programming and resources to help artists of colour navigate the industry.

Anatworld Preschool Music Lessons

Performing is my passion, but I enjoy my 2nd love which is teaching. I specialize in teaching Preschoolers Music Curriculum. I have a fabulous method that the children love and they can start as early as the age of 2. The younger a child starts, the sooner they begin an instrument and the chances that they'll follow through with that instrument increases because it becomes part of their wiring! I help Preschoolers begin their journey into musicianship. In the past, the majority of my work was composing for film scores and performing in various bands as a bassist, singer and pianist. This also includes doing session work. I spent 8 years in the Dominican Republic where I made my living singing and playing piano for the tourists. My job was to help them feel all those emotions that come up with songs from their past and present. I am very grateful to have had those years of performing for people. I'm starting back up again now that I've moved back to Canada. I'm currently residing in Waterloo, Ontario. My music has changed over the years and through my growth. I now compose music that is a lot more healing. It's genre is Medicine Music. I hope that you enjoy what I plan on putting out this year. I am grateful my music now spreads love.
