The Berkeley Beacon
The Berkeley Beacon is Emerson College’s only independent, student-run newspaper. The Beacon is consistently heralded as one of the top student news organizations in the country, with our focus on editorial excellence and newsroom innovation. Through daily publication of content online, a weekly print newspaper, a semesterly magazine, and other forms of multimedia distribution, The Beacon is the leading source for Emerson-centric news. Founded in 1947, the paper was named after the college’s former location in Back Bay, at the confluence of Berkeley Street and Beacon Street. The paper is a chronicle of life at Emerson — covering student government politics, on- and off-campus events, administrative initiatives and sports. In recent years, our staff has reported on a wide range of topics, covering everything from the expansion and renovation of Emerson’s campus to protests in Boston and at Emerson. In 2011, The Beacon became the first college newspaper website with a responsive design, and in 2018 transitioned from its role as a weekly print paper to a daily, digital-first model. The Beacon has won multiple Associated Collegiate Press awards for our redesigned daily website. In 2024, The Beacon was recognized by Emerson’s Journalism Department for its coverage of the Cutler Majestic arrests. The Beacon’s reporting on the pro-Palestinian encampment on campus in the spring 2024 semester generated more than page views and was the most cited story on the event on Google.

Trouw
Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly' and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping' with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter & Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.

China Times
China Times is a news channel which consists of print & online. We are located in Chinatown in The Hague, The Netherlands. China Times started as a newspaper in 2003 and quickly became one of the most popular and influential Chinese newspaper in The Netherlands. The current newspaper has a magazine look & feel and contains the latest news of The Netherlands and China. It also has subjects like food, travel, in-depth stories and much more. Yearly, we publish around 9 times. The paper consists of 32 till 40 pages in high quality, full colors. In total, we have a circulation of copies around The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. China Times is approved by the Chinese Embassy. This resulted in China Times becoming the in-flight newspaper of China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines. As an independent media organization, China Times runs with the purpose of better serving the Chinese community in The Netherlands and Europe. We care for the people’s life and society. We have been working to build a bridge between China and The Netherlands in order to make Chinese people and Dutch people know more about the culture of each other. “Wherever there are Chinese people, there is China Times and wherever there is China Times, there is cultural exchange between the two countries.” We will keep working on this target. Since October 2011, China Times launched our daily news website and deliver more latest news and information about The Netherlands, China and the world. The website will be a supplement to the newspaper and we will construct a base for the Chinese community.

Contrary to all other subscription agents, we actually deliver most of the subscriptions to our clients ourselves.
