Abaad - Resource Centre For Gender Equality

ABAAD Resource Center for Gender Equality is a non-profit, non-politically affiliated, non-religious civil association founded in 2011. Our aim is to promote sustainable social and economic development in the Middle East and North Africa region through equality, protection and empowerment of marginalized groups, especially women. ABAAD comprises of a dynamic pool of resources, human rights activists, lawyers, consultants, social workers, and researchers that are all dedicated towards achieving gender equality and women empowerment. Our Vision ABAAD envisions a world in which men and women live as equitable partners and work together to secure better lives for their future. Women are effectively empowered and participate in democratic processes that affect their lives and their communities. In this world there is no violence or discrimination, and women live in freedom, dignity and inner peace. Women also have fair access to assets and resources within their communities. Our Mission ABAAD believes that achieving gender equality requires systemic changes in policy and modes of social interactions at all levels of the society: home, work place, school, public services, media, and others. Hence, ABAAD seeks to promote women’s equality and participation through prevention and protection for women, men, and children and youth by way of Advocacy; Resource Development; Direct Services; and Building Capacities, Raising Awareness, and Technical Support. ABAAD also seeks to support and collaborate with civil society organisations that are involved in gender equality programs and advocacy campaigns. Our Values ABAAD draws its values and goals from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the CEDAW, and the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. ABAAD, as an association, also believes in the spirit and values of equality, protection, empowerment, inclusion, partnership, networking, good governance, accountability, and transparency.

Souk El Tayeb

The land, the people, the history, the food and the traditions underpin the very existence of Souk el Tayeb. Souk el Tayeb has evolved since 2004 from an experimental farmers market promoting small-scale farmers and producers, to an organization working on both, national and international projects to promote and preserve culinary traditions, rural heritage and the natural environment. Tayeb holds several meanings in Arabic…Tayeb as “good”, Tayeb as “tasty” or Tayeb as “goodhearted” when talking about a person. Souk el Tayeb’s vision is to celebrate the food and traditions that unite communities and support small-scale farmers and producers and the culture of sustainable agriculture. Souk el Tayeb’s mission is to create environments that bring people of different regions and beliefs together – celebrating the land we love, supporting small-scale farmers and producers, encouraging organic, eco-friendly practices, contributing to local communities, leading research and educational campaigns about food traditions and heritage, and promoting organic foods and a healthy lifestyle.

Al Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association Of Beirut

Al Makassed Philanthropic Islamic Association of Beirut is compassionate with the child and youth, with the human being in the prevention and treatment, as well as with women and elderly through various projects to meet the needs of the community in Lebanon. Adra Lebanon

ADRA is in Lebanon to offer humanitarian assistance in response to the Syrian crisis. The greatest needs of Syrian refugees in particular are access to health, food security, shelter and access to education. It is worth noting that vulnerable host communities more often than not, face similar problems as the refugees. The biggest challenge faced by humanitarian actors is that the needs eclipse the available funding. There are greater needs than resources available for interventions.

Rahma For Special Needs

Rahma for Special Needs (RSN) is a specialized humanitarian registered center (through ADJI 1981- Lebanon) dedicated to serve and support some of the most marginalized Lebanese, Syrian & Palestinian children with special needs (PWSN), Rahma for Special Needs welcomes more than 600 children yearly in its internal and external departments where it offers an educational, rehabilitation, and social support specialized programs. Our Center is Certified Green School, equipped with a high technology infrastructure, developed quality system, and a specialized team who aim to assure services perfectness with respecting of safety standards. Our team includes more than 120 employees of different specializations and shifts, throughout several departments: Educational Department (Academic & Vocational Sections), Rehabilitation Department (All Therapeutic Services), Social and Health department (Social & Community Engagement), Public Relations & Activities (RSTP Programs), and the Administrative Specialized Team (HR, Finance, Admission). Rahma for Special Needs (RSN) seeks to ensure and achieve Educational & Rehabilitation excellence, and plan to increase Social Integration & Community Engagement in our society, through a group of specialists who intended to excel in their work and enhance the quality continuously. On the fourth anniversary of Chidiac’s assassination attempt, were launched the May Chidiac Foundation (MCF) – a non-prot organization mainly dedicated to training, research, and education on issues of media, democracy, and social welfare - and its affiliated Media Institute, a non-prot organization that aims to bridge the gap between academia and media industry, providing the professionals and the young generation with state-of-the-art, technical facilities, and training programs in order to improve their “market-readiness” and competitiveness. Relying on a partnership with high education institutions, the Media Institute offers support to professionals and students in region to experience practical learning in media. Apart from Dr. Chidiac’s extensive experience as a well-renowned media professional and academic, MCF-MI trainers include highly esteemed media professionals in the Arab world from different areas of expertise. May Chidiac Foundation’s contribution is articulated not only the Media Institute, but also around applied actions such as launching the MCF-Media Awards, organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences related to best practices of freedom of the press. Through the community activities (conferences, seminars, awards, etc.) May Chidiac Foundation is enabling the individuals to be active contributors in their societies. Charity Hub Organization

Since its creation in the aftermath of Beirut port blast to assist in emergency relief efforts, Charity Hub Initiative has been able to provide assistance to hundred of families by repairing shelter and distribution of supplies of food, medicine and hygiene kits. Our effective response also led us to target and help more than 19 SMEs affected by the blast, pay hospital bills and refurbish numerous homes. Everyday we mobilize our team of volunteers since we aim to cover lebanon as a whole. Our social media network, call center and home assessments enables us to connect in new ways with a wide range of people creating linkages between vulnerable populations and people who are willing to help.
