HELVETAS has been active in Moldova since 2018, focusing on economic development, social inclusion, and emergency preparedness. Through the OPTIM project (SDC-supported), we strengthen Moldova’s economy by improving market systems and delivering innovative solutions in agriculture and ICT that help local businesses grow. Via RECONOMY (with Sida), we promote inclusive economic development supporting digitalization in agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing; energy efficiency; circular economy; and ICT skills for disadvantaged groups. In response to the war in Ukraine, HELVETAS provided humanitarian aid to refugees and host families in Moldova, shifting toward long-term support for economic integration and social cohesion.
