iDE Bangladesh was established in 1984 as iDE’s first country program. The program pioneered the development of private sector supply chains for manual irrigation pumps, recognizing the huge productivity constraint that a lack of steady access to water had on rural farmers. After an initial success in promoting the rower pump, we found an efficient and cost-effective solution to the problem of water control in the treadle pump. To date, more than 1.5 million treadle pumps have been sold in Bangladesh, creating 1.4 billion dollars in net additional income per year. Today, iDE Bangladesh focuses on two broad themes: Agriculture and WASH and implements programs focused on using a market-oriented development model to improve the lives of people living in poverty. We seek to understand base-of-the pyramid customers, analyze market constraints, and explore high-value market opportunities - with the ultimate goal of catalyzing pro-poor change that is sustainable, scalable, and inclusive. Our current programs are focused on improving food and nutrition security through agricultural innovations and inclusive markets. TRY, a volunteer organization made up of KUETians with an indomitable desire and mentality to stand beside people. TRY was officially reveal at the starting of 21st February 2014 in an attempt to do something for the people. The main purpose of TRY is to make people smile by standing beside them. It started with the KUETians and the people around the KUET, but now TRY is working all over the country. Providing winter clothes, providing blankets to helpless people by cycling, Iftar programs during Ramadan, funding for the treatment of sick KUETians is the permanent projects of TRY. Besides this, temporary projects are given scholarships to poor but talented students. standing beside helpless people and supporting them & also help to flood victim area. In this path of TRY, we always got the KUETians by our side. The Hall Collection, a grant from the KUET Alumni, and a small portion of the Student's Hall Dues are the source of TRY's donation. TRY is working for humanity for the endangered people only in search of an innocent smile. By embracing the dignity and humanitarian motivation of this faith, each member of the TRY has been working for a lifetime.

Who we are: In 1988, a massive flood in Bangladesh destroyed lives, livelihoods, and property. Sirajganj, located beside the Jamuna River was seriously affected. National and international NGOs helped flood victims. Local youth, with the leadership of Md. Alauddin Khan, the Executive Director, volunteered with NGOs in emergency response and recovery. The team realized that long-term solutions are needed to help the flood victims and the poor people. Their ideas on sustainable development were well-received by donors. It motivated them to start a new organization, and on January 1, 1992,"National Development Programme (NDP)" officially started its journey. Vision: A poverty free society where human rights, dignity and social justice be promoted, local capacity built, eliminated gender discrimination and reduced climate change vulnerability. Mission: NDP works with the communities in order to improve socio-economic status, promote gender equality and bring positive changes in the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the society through close collaboration with government line departments, local government and administration, civil societies, NGOs, private sectors, development partners and other stakeholders. Target group: The organization primarily serves several kinds of beneficiaries. The poor and extreme/ultra-poor, women, adolescents, children, person with disabilities, and minorities, various occupational groups such as marginal farmers, businessmen, small shop owners, weavers, craftsmen, rickshaw-van pullers. Currently, NDP serves over project beneficiaries, of which 86% are female. Staff: There are currently 1,419 employees working for NDP. Coverage: NDP is working in 71 Upazilas under 20 districts of 8 divisions. The organization's headquarter is located in Kamarkhanda upazila, Sirajganj district. Save The Future Foundation
Save the Future is an environmental and social organization for the street children and the people living in the street. It is established formally through providing clothes among the people suffering bitter coldness of the winter. There are about 11 lacs and 50 thousand street children in the country and among them more than 8 lacs live in Dhaka city. About 50thousands of people live in the street all over the country and among them more than 35 thousand live in Dhaka. It is not possible to gain the expected goal of the country keeping a large portion of total population behind. So there is no alternative of private and collective initiatives along with the government. In the era of globalization, Bangladesh’s position is on top of the list of countries which will be most affected due to bad impact of climate placing there issues ahead, a group of university youths influenced by their social and moral responsibility have established this organization with determination to improve the lot of the street children and the street dwelling people and to keep the environment green by investing their highest effort and stretching their hands of humanity. This organization has started its walking containing the slogan “By the touch of humanity let the darkness be removed”. Every citizen of the country can be a member of this organization showing unity and respect to the goals of the organization and promising to assist the organization. WaterAid has been operating in Bangladesh since 1986 as one of the lead actors in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector and is well experienced in innovating, scaling up and managing large scale projects targeting poor and extreme poor. It has been registered with NGO Affairs Bureau in 1996. The geographic focus of WaterAid Bangladesh includes urban slums, hard-to-reach areas and eco-hazardous zones such as hill tract and hillocks, dry and arid barind tract, salinity-prone coastal belt, haor and flood-prone chars keeping an eye over the climate change implications. We, along with our partner NGOs, have successfully developed and implemented a model approach for providing sustainable community managed WASH services and facilities for poor, extreme poor and socially excluded people in geographically and technically challenged contexts of Bangladesh. We have been enhancing our partners’ as well as of sector stakeholders’ capacity for establishing systems in program delivery, monitoring and evaluation (physical and financial), human resource and others to facilitate pro-poor, gender sensitive, cost effective, and sustainable WASH services. We facilitate community people to demand their WASH rights, capacitate and sensitise Government and other duty bearers to respond to the peoples need, and advocates for the essential role of WASH in human development.
