Saint Lucia National Trust
The Saint Lucia National Trust (SLNT) is a membership organization established in 1975 under the Saint Lucia National Trust Act, Chapter 6.02 of the Revised Laws of Saint Lucia, to conserve the natural and cultural heritage of Saint Lucia, and to promote values which lead to national pride and love of country. The objectives and purposes of the SLNT as set out in our Act are summarised below- The listing of buildings, objects and monuments of prehistoric, historic and architectural interest and paces of natural beauty- To promote and preserve for the benefit of the enjoyment of the State of submarine, subterranean areas of beauty or natural historic interest and to preserve their natural aspects, features, animals and plant life- To make the public aware of the value of the State’s heritage- To pursue a policy of preservation; and - To mobilise resources. The National Trust's Vision The natural and historical patrimony of Saint Lucia is conserved for present and future generations. Governance The affairs of the Trust are administered by a Council comprising- Seven members elected by the general membership annually- Two members nominated by the Saint Lucia Archaeological and Historical Society annually; and - Two members nominated by the Minister responsible for the National Trust every two years.

Unleashing The Blue Economy Of The Caribbean Ubec - St. Lucia
UBEC is a people-centred project aimed at revitalizing economic growth in St. Lucia through the promotion of marine and coastal resilience across key sectors such as tourism, fisheries, and waste management. This five (5) year initiative endeavors to enhance climate resilience, sustainability, and competitiveness within St. Lucia's blue economy. UBEC not only aims to fortify the foundations of the blue economy but also to foster cross-sectoral collaboration by strengthening linkages between relevant industries and sectors. Furthermore, the project is being implemented in the neighboring islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada. Funding for the project is provided by the World Bank, with oversight and management entrusted to the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Youth Economy. UBEC officially commenced operations on January 11th, 2023, marking the beginning of a transformative journey toward a resilient and sustainable blue economy in the Caribbean.
