L'Association Luxembourg Alzheimer, en abrégé ala, est un réseau d'aide et de soins spécialisé dans la prise en charge des personnes atteintes de démence. Depuis sa création en 1987, l'ala s'engage à l'échelle nationale et internationale pour défendre les intérêts des personnes souffrant de démence et de leurs proches. Ses différentes structures de prise en charge (6 foyers de jour et 1 maison de séjour et de soins) lui permettent d'offrir aux personnes touchées par la maladie toutes les prestations prévues par l'assurance dépendance aux quatre coins du pays. En sa qualité d'association, l'ala offre, en outre, de nombreux autres services d'aide et d'assistance qui vont au-delà des prestations prévues par l'assurance dépendance. Les objectifs de l'ala L'objectif prioritaire de l'ala est d'améliorer la qualité de vie des personnes atteintes de démence et de leurs proches. Pour y parvenir, nous nous engageons à plusieurs niveaux : • sensibiliser la population à la démence, • collaborer avec les instances publiques et politiques, les institutions sociales et médicales ainsi que les employés du secteur de la santé, • créer des foyers de jour supplémentaires et développer de nouvelles structures de soins et de prise en charge pour les personnes atteintes de démence, • revaloriser et souligner l'importance de la prise en charge à domicile et des services de soins, • augmenter le nombre de places en maison de soins pour des séjours à long et à court terme, • mettre en place une formation approfondie essentiellement axée sur la démence pour les professionnels de la santé, • développer des groupes d'entraide et de conseil pour les familles, • améliorer globalement les conditions de vie de toutes les personnes touchées dans notre pays. Nos services de conseil, d'accompagnement et de prise en charge ciblés d'une part et nos offres de formation et de sensibilisation d'autre part soutiennent nos efforts en ce sens.
