Hospice Malta
Hospice Malta, a registered NGO with the Commissioner for Voluntary Organizations (VO/0062), offers all of its services free of charge to patients in Malta and Gozo. The raison d’etre of Hospice Malta is guided by the philosophy and principles of palliative care as expounded by the WHO. Hospice Malta’s primary role was to provide and promote palliative care for persons suffering from end-of-life cancer and motor neuron disease. Throughout the years, as the awareness and the need for palliative care increased, Hospice Malta included other conditions within its mission statement so that presently, community-based services are also offered to patients suffering from end-of-life cardiac, respiratory, renal and liver diseases. The possibility of including other end-of-life diseases is also being constantly reviewed.

Chamber Of Engineers
The Chamber of Engineers (CoE) is the only local organisation catering for the interests of Maltese Professional Engineers. The Chamber was founded on the 28th April 1978. The Chamber of Engineers is today an ever growing, dynamic and very active organisation which is continuously discussing ways and means of both enhancing and safeguarding the profession. At both a local and European level, the Chamber actively participates in international discussion groups through the Chamber's affiliation with the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI). It has also hosted the annual FEANI meeting on two occasions in 1994 and in 2004. The Chamber's role in Malta is also recognised. The Chamber has a representative voice on a number of local Authorities and Government Boards. The CoE organises various activities such as, visits to engineering concerns and projects, and engineering fora amongst others. The most prestigious activity is the Annual Engineering Conference, organised in April or May of each year. In December we organise our Annual Reception during which the Malta Engineering Excellence Awards, for Innovation, Leadership and LifeTime Achievement, are presented.
