Shafallah Center For Persons With Disabilities
The Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities was established in to protect the rights of people with disabilities in Qatar. The Center provides ideal services for people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, whose ages do not exceed 21, in the field of special education and qualification. In addition, it raises societal awareness of their issues and rights to obtain a more independent life and maximize their integration into society. The Center has been operating since 2013 under the authority of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. The Center was named “Shafallah” to symbolize the hope it inspires in its members and beneficiaries. It is a reference to the name of the wild Shafallah plant that grows in the desert, symbolizing life amidst the dryness of the desert in Qatar. As aforementioned, the Shafallah Center was established to enhance the capacity and inclusion of people with disabilities in society by using modern technology and applying international best practices in a way that suits the Qatari society, with persistent steps to develop the capabilities of individuals to face challenges, achieve success, and enable our children to contribute to the sustainable development of the Qatari society.

National Human Rights Committee Qatar
منذ أن بدأت دولة قطر الحديثة ، أولى القائمون على أمرها مهمة تعزيز وتكريس دولة الحقوق والحريات والقانون والمؤسسات حيث جاء إنشاء اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان بالمرسوم بقانون رقم (38) لسنة 2002 هو الضمانه الحقيقية لحفظ حقوق الإنسان. وفي ضوء النهضة الشاملة التي تشهدها دولة قطر في ذلك العهد تم إعادة تنظيم اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان بموجب المرسوم بقانون رقم (17) لسنة 2010 ومنحها الاستقلال التام وجعلها ذات شخصية معنوية وموازنة مستقلة ومقرها الرئيسي مدينة الدوحة ، كما حدد ذلك المرسوم بقانون أهداف اللجنة وإختصاصاتها. وعلى الصعيد الدولي تصنف اللجنة الوطنية لحقوق الإنسان على الدرجة (A) وذلك من قبل التحالف العالمي للمؤسسات الوطنية لحقوق الانسان (GANHRI – لجنة التنسيق الدولية ICC سابقا – والذي يضم في عضويته كافة المؤسسات الوطنية لحقوق الانس In light of the evolution underway in the state of Qatar, priority has been given to promotion and consolidation of state of law, rights, freedoms and institutions; In this regard, the NHRC was established in accordance with Decree Law No.(38) for the year 2002. The NHRC was re-organized in accordance with Decree law no.(17) for the year 2010, thereby consolidating NHRC independence as a permanent official body headquartered in the city of Doha with a separate legal personality and an independent budget; this Decree also specified the objectives and mandates of the NHRC. At the international level, the NHRC was accredited A status by the International Coordinating Committee of National Human Rights Institutions for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights (ICC) which is a representative body of national human rights institutions drawn from all regions of the world; the NHRC is also a member in the Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA) of the International Coordinating Committee (ICC) which is responsible for the accreditation and classification of national Committees all over the world. The NHRC is entitled to participate in the ICC and in its regional sub-group, the Asia Pacific Forum as of March 2012 for a period of 3 years.

Rule Of Law & Anti-Corruption Center
During the Conference of the State Parties to the Third United Nations Convention Against Corruption, held in Doha in 2009, a proposal was made by HH The Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani – may God protect him – for the creation of a centre based on the ideals of mutual cooperation and partnership building, with an international mandate to spread awareness and knowledge of the policies and tools necessary to prevent and combat corruption. The purpose of the centre would be to promote the latest methods and best practices currently available to address corruption and abuses of the rule of law, and through capacity building, training, conferences and seminars undermine corrupt practices in the region. The Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Centre (ROLACC) was founded on the desire to construct and develop specialized knowledge and skills for use by individual practitioners and institutions, which would lead to the strengthening of the rule of law and fight corruption in line with international standards and national needs. Designed to provide support to all parties battling corruption, particularly from the Arab world, the Centre seeks to create a framework to enable the permanent exchange of experience and expertise in the region through strategic partnerships with the relevant bodies of the United Nations, particularly the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. As the acting Secretariat body of IAACA, the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities, and the acting secretariat of the Conference of State Parties to the Convention Against Corruption, ROLACC is well placed to support national bodies and leading research centers in their goal to create new knowledge and networks for tackling corruption and promoting the rule of law.
