Crossbridge Energy A/S har pr. juli 2021 overtaget raffinaderiet i Fredericia med tilhørende Trading & Supply aktiviteter og vil bringe raffinaderiet ind i en grønnere fremtid med en vision om at blive CO2 neutral i 2035. Crossbridge Energy A/S vil fortsætte udviklingen af grøn brint, avancerede biobrændstoffer og samforarbejdning. Raffinaderiet er allerede i færd med at omstrukturere til en mere bæredygtig fremtid. Udviklingen omfatter genbrug af overskudsolie til en mere bæredygtig raffinering, planer om at udvikle raffinaderiets muligheder for co-processing af vedvarende råmaterialer, samt undersøge mulighederne for produktion af avancerede biobrændstoffer. Bla. undersøges mulighederne for at nyttiggøre affald, såsom brugt motorolie og slam fra skibe til at skabe energi, mens der på biobrændselssiden arbejdes videre med forarbejdning af vegetabilske dieselolier. Crossbridge Energy A/S deltager i HySynergy-samarbejdet om at etablere et 300 MW elektrolyse- og PtX-anlæg ved siden af raffinaderiet. Allerede i dag er raffinaderiet i Fredericia verdens tredjemest energieffektive raffinaderi og nummer et i Europa. Således er det Danmarks største leverandør af overskudsvarme til fjernvarme og leverer mere end almindelige husstandes årlige forbrug af fjernvarme – produceret ved at nyttiggøre overskudsvarme fra produktionen i stedet for at lade det gå til spilde. Raffinaderiet er certificeret til at kunne raffinere bio-olieprodukter fra bunden i det eksisterende anlæg fremfor at skulle tilføre biokomponenter efterfølgende. Raffinaderiet producerer 35 % af det danske forbrug af flydende brændstoffer og eksporterer tilsvarende mængder fra havneterminalen.
