Booma Women Cooperative

Booma Women Cooperative was established by 12 local women in 2023 in southwest Zambia near the Victoria Falls. Local women traditionally collect and process NWFP (Non-Wood Forest Products) to support household nutrition. Through a support from the Czech Republic, we established a processing plant for cold-pressed seed-oils. We process seeds and nuts into sustainable oils for body care & cooking. Through the Cooperative local woman earn income and have access to economic & social benefits. Also, the Cooperative supports sustainable forest management and protection of natural resources and biodiversity.
