Pharos Arts Foundation

The Cyprus-based Pharos Arts Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of the arts and humanities. Taking advantage of the island’s unique cultural and geographic situation on the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa and the European Union’s south-eastern boundary, the Foundation offers a permanent home for the arts, culture and global dialogue in Cyprus by bringing artists, writers, musicians, composers and philosophers together for creative expression and exchange. The Pharos Arts Foundation works with individual artists and musicians as well as organizations throughout the world, and realizes activities and publications that contribute to the positive interaction between culture and development and stimulate intellectual and artistic growth in the form artistic productions, creative processes and debate. Throughout the year, the Foundation presents several cultural and educational programmes: Concert and Recital Series, Cyprus Artists Series, Music Education Programme, International Chamber Music Festival, Contemporary Music Festival, Visual Arts Programme, Publishing, Lecture Series, Residency Programme, Brazilian Culture Month. Over the past few years, the Pharos Arts Foundation has organised over 750 concerts and recitals with extraordinary soloists and ensembles and has benefited over students through its educational programmes.

Rialto Theatre Limassol

The Rialto Theatre manages and produces cultural events from Cyprus and abroad, while implementing theatre, film, dance and music events, hosting them mostly, yet not exclusively, in its own theatre. Some of its own productions, organised in collaboration with other institutions, have been presented to theatres in other cities, squares, ancient theatres and elsewhere. For many years now, the Rialto Theatre has been organising and producing the following annual events and festivals in collaboration with the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth: Cyprus Film Days International Festival, International Short Film Festival of Cyprus, Cyprus Contemporary Dance Festival, Cyprus Choreography Platform, Drama Short Film Festival travels to Cyprus, Cyprus Jazz and World Music Showcase, and since March 2020, the Cyprus Choreography Showcase aiming to present the work of Cypriot choreographers internationally. The Rialto Theatre disposes of a large network of spectators, having established effective mechanisms for the promotion and screening of events, as well as an electronic ticketing system. Its annual budget exceeds one million euro and its programme includes more than 200 events annually. The Organisation is a member of the Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals, while most of the festivals organised by the Rialto Theatre have received the EFFE Label – Europe’s quality stamp for remarkable art festivals.

The ARTos House is a Cultural and Research crossdisciplinary platform and functions as a contemporary arts and science center dedicated to research and creativity: two magical worlds of adventure and discovery, encompassing sojourns into the fields of learning, chaos and imagination. Its premises, both transcendental and material, inspire the contemporary artist/creator and the scientist/creator alike, offering to both a platform, promoting them at a local as well as at an international level, with quality being the main criterion. It functions as a multidimensional space, organizing and undertaking the production of multifaceted events from the world of theatre, music, dance, cinema, visual arts, letters and sciences. At the same time, its multipurpose spaces are available to individuals, organizations and other agencies for the hosting of events, presentations, seminars, symposia, conferences and scientific or other workshops.

Δημιουργήθηκε το 2012 με σκοπό την έρευνα, και εμβάθυνση σε λογοτεχνικά και καλλιτεχνικά θέματα και τη διοργάνωση πολιτιστικών εκδηλώσεων κάθε είδους που εξυπηρετούν το σκοπό αυτό. Αποτελεί ένα δημιουργικό πεδίο έκφρασης όπου θα αναδεικνύεται ο πολιτισμός, η παράδοση του τόπου μας και οι τέχνες κάθε μορφής. Η μουσική, οι εικαστικές τέχνες, το θέατρο, η λογοτεχνία αποτελούν για μας αντικείμενο έρευνας ως παράγοντες που συμβάλουν στην εξέλιξη του ανθρώπου και της κοινωνίας. Ένας από τους βασικούς τομείς δράσης του Τεχνοδρομίου, προκύπτει από τη διαχείριση του Μουσείου το Πλουμιστό Ψωμί, στη Λεμεσό, που ασχολείται με την καταγραφή και έρευνα γύρω από θέματα λαογραφίας και κυρίως των πλουμιστών, παραδοσιακών ψωμιών του ελληνισμού.

Nicosia International Festival, Nicosia Municipality

The Nicosia Municipality organised the 1st Nicosia International Festival which took place from October 13th until November 24th, 2019 in the Nicosia Municipal Theatre. A strategic goal of the Municipality’s cultural policy, which forms the philosophy behind the Festival, is the responsibility to expose citizens to our own culture as well as the culture of other people and other traditions, in order to allow them to accept and embrace difference and equality regardless of age, gender, skin colour, religion or sexual orientation. The 1st Festival brought together the past the present and the future and showcased performances of theatre, music, and contemporary dance through more than 20 productions where the contemporary and the classical co-existed with rebetiko and world music, and where Cypriot artists presented their work alongside world-class artists. It was a 6-week cultural feast which presented Nicosia as a mosaic of people and cultures.
