Festival Ljubljana
The main activity of Festival Ljubljana is the organisation and running of the international summer festival, which serves to place the Slovenian capital city on the map of globally important cultural and arts venues during the summer months. Every summer the Ljubljana Festival makes an important contribution to the cultural life of Ljubljana with a carefully selected programme covering a wide variety of genres, including ballet, opera and theatrical productions, musicals, chamber and symphony concerts, the International Art Colony, master classes, children’s and youth workshops, Ljubljana Festival on the River Ljubljanica and much more. During this time the Križanke complex redesigned by Plečnik, Kongresni trg square and the stages of other Ljubljana cultural institutions host more than artists from over 50 countries, and each year events draw an audience up to people.

Glej Theatre
Glej Theatre is Slovenia’s oldest independent theatre. Founded back in 1970, this experimental venue and production house has been led through the decades by young theatre creators, many of whom are Slovenia’s most well known theatre practitioners today: among others Dušan Jovanović, Janez Pipan, Eduard Miller, Nevenka Koprivšek, Matjaž Pograjc, Bojan Jablanovec, Tomi Janežič, Sebastijan Horvat, Diego DeBrea, Jure Novak, Marko (Mare) Bulc etc. Glej produces and hosts research theatre projects of up-and-coming directors, who can apply to Glej’s open calls. Glej offers a stepping-stone to young directors with professional working conditions, enabling quick and effective personal artistic growth and providing an entry point to a successful theatre career. In the last few years Glej has been successfully touring festivals across Europe and the United States. Since 2009 the theatre is a member in standing of IETM - International network for contemporary performing arts. Glej’s privious artistic director Marko Bulc’s vision was to keep Glej a daring urban theatre, dedicated to theatre research and promoting the new and marginal. With new artistic director Marko Bratuš Glej Theatre will still be bringing audiences an unusual theatre experience, while offering creators a space of uncensored freedom of creation.

Lutkovno Gledališče Ljubljana
Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana (LGL) is the main Slovenian puppet theatre staging puppet and drama performances for children, youngsters and adults. Its predominant target audiences are children and young people. The public institution was established in 1948 and has been based in Mestni dom in Krekov Square since 1984. In its work, the theatre builds on the hundred-year tradition of Slovenian puppetry. With the establishment of the Museum of Puppetry at the Ljubljana Castle, the LGL officially became the caretaker of this precious, century-old heritage. The theatre manages five regular and several smaller, occasional venues. At these venues, which offer seating for approximately a thousand people, it produces fifteen premieres a year and is visited by around spectators. Lutkovno gledališče Ljubljana also pays special attention to cultural and artistic education in all its dimensions and at the national level cooperates in the endeavours to strengthen the standards and systemically place quality cultural content in the programmes of educational institutions. We organise International Puppet Festival LUTKE, which takes place every even-numbered year. The LGL is a member of the International Puppetry Association UNIMA. LGL is a public institution founded by the City of Ljubljana, whose work is predominantly financed by the Ministry of Culture and the City of Ljubljana. In addition to receiving regular public funds, the LGL generates profits by performing a public service (ticket sale, royalties for touring performances etc.) and operating in the market (organising events, renting out venues, selling products related to its basic programme, making mascots etc.). The LGL is open for various European partnerships and is successful in obtaining additional public funds from the EU budget.

Prešernovo Gledališče Kranj
Prešeren Theatre Kranj is recognised, in Slovenia and beyond, for its thematically provocative, socially engaged and aesthetically exquisite productions. We are bound to these ambitions, or rather to the mission of theatre arts, by the mere fact that we are named after the greatest Slovenian poet – France Prešeren (1800 - 1849). Although we are a repertory theatre, we're not afraid of bold moves and innovation. Our repertoire focuses on the socio-politically engaged work of current contemporary playwrights (Slovenian and foreign), on a new interpretation of the classics, innovative staging of drama forms, the poetic language of theatre and selection of the most prominent theatrical creators and directors. We are also organisers of the;Week of Slovenian Drama festival, in which the best performances from Slovenia and abroad are presented each year in March; performances which were created on the basis of Slovenian plays. And it is for this reason, of course, that we perform and, with drama workshops, also support contemporary Slovenian plays. Special attention is also given to quality performances for children and for adolescents. Prešeren Theatre Kranj and its individual members have received numerous awards in recent years, including awards at various theatre festivals in Slovenia, Croatia, Chech Republic, Poland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Bulgaria. The festivals in Argentina, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, India, Russia and USA were also unforgettable.

Gledališče Dela I Theatre Works
Theatre WORKS produces performative theatre plays, happenings and situations. It explores the spectator’s manner and his participation in reliance to the seen. With its authorial concepts it critically encompasses the problematics of our day and sets them into different surroundings (the stage, the street, a park, a basement and an empty old hall). The structure of the Theatre is based on intertwining of different arts. The leading role is given to movement, music and visual elements and the relations between those. Theatre WORKS changes its own, as well as the spectators’ view, and stages performances, that speak their own words and show imagery of which we are either afraid of, or don’t want to acknowledge. We open up eyes, fill the blanks and set the questions once again. Theatre WORKS is constantly searching for answers in people. With composition it shows the lack and sets focus on sociological and political problematics. The performances are not limited on the base of the perception of a room or an actor – they are being defined by the reactions of the spectator. The focus is on THE actor, which can decide about his point of view and co-direct and event. Theatre WORKS works, so you can watch.
