Gamut Theatre Group
Gamut Theatre Group uses what has come to be known as the actor/manager model. A structure borrowed from Shakespeare's company over 400 years ago, our actors also fulfill various administrative and technical occupations during the day that make our organization run. They build sets, write grants, stitch costumes, run the box office, advertise, teach classes, and even clean the bathrooms. Without them, Gamut would not be here today. Our small full-time company juggles professional acting engagements year-round with comprehensive teaching duties and an additional administrative or technical responsibility within the company. Our main stage shows also feature the talents of additional professional artists, local and otherwise. We do it all on a minimal budget and with smiles on our faces. Gamut has consistently operated in the black since its inception as Popcorn Hat Players in the early nineties. We consider ourselves deeply fortunate to have the opportunity do what we love full- time, professionally, in a city and region in which many of us grew up, and that all of us call home. All individuals regardless of race, gender, gender identity, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and/or disability are welcome to participate in Gamut Theatre programs. Gamut Theatre Group’s mission is to tell classic stories in new and exciting ways. Our vision is a world where all people cherish classic stories and share them with future generations. If you are someone who believes in our mission and shares our vision, we encourage you to become involved with Gamut Theatre.

Independent Shakespeare Co
Independent Shakespeare Co. is a unique theater company, one that brings together a wide cross-section of our community to experience plays, both classical and new. We are leaders in creating a truly diverse ensemble of artists, and an equally diverse audience. We are passionate in our belief that shared theatrical experiences build a stronger, more joyful, more connected community. Los Angeles is our home. 2010 marked the start of a new chapter in our history: our Free Shakespeare in the Park annual festival moved to Griffith Park. It’s an ideal spot. It’s truly the park that’s for all Los Angeles, our stage is built in the gently sloping natural amphitheater of the Old Zoo, and the nights are peaceful. Since 2013 we have performed to over people each and every summer. The Festival has grown to include more than Shakespeare performances. Audiences enjoy pre-show performances by a variety of local artists, we host the Salon Series (conversations about the intersection of Shakespeare and contemporary culture), and families can attend pre-show workshops about the plays. All of our summer events are entirely free. In 2011, we moved into an indoor, year-round venue in the Atwater Crossing Complex in Atwater Village. We now occupy a 65-seat performance venue, the Independent Studio. At the Studio, we present new plays that connect us to our history and experimental productions of classical plays. We’re expanding what we think about theater, and engaging our audience in the conversation about what theater can be, and its role in the community.

Founded by Ciarán O’Reilly and Charlotte Moore, The Irish Repertory Theatre opened its doors in September 1988 with Sean O’Casey’s THE PLOUGH AND THE STARS. In 1995, the theater made its permanent home in Chelsea on three completely renovated floors of a former warehouse, allowing for both a Main Stage theater and a smaller studio space, the W. Scott McLucas Studio. The Irish Repertory Theatre is currently the only year-round theater company in New York City devoted exclusively to bringing Irish and Irish-American works to the stage.
