Svenska Kulturfonden The Swedish Cultural Foundation In Finland
Vi delar årligen ut drygt 40 miljoner euro i understöd till utbildning, kultur och svenskspråkig verksamhet i Finland. Vårt uppdrag är att stödja utbildning och forskning, konst och kultur och samhällsservice som gynnar det svenska i Finland. Vi behandlar varje år cirka 8 ansökningar av privatpersoner och organisationer. Kulturfondens kapital ägs och förvaltas av Svenska litteratursällskapet. Avkastningen på kapitalet delas ut via Stiftelsen för utbildning och kultur på svenska i Finland sr. I sin utdelning använder stiftelsen namnet Svenska kulturfonden. Våra förtroendevalda beslutar om utdelning av understöd. I enlighet med donationsbrevet utser Svenska folkpartiet de förtroendevalda. Kulturfonden grundades 1908 och är idag en paraplybeteckning för ungefär 490 fonder. Fonderna har kommit till genom testamenten och gåvor från privatpersoner, samfund och Our mission is to support and strengthen the culture and education of the Swedish-speaking minority in Finland, by supporting education, arts and culture and social cohesion through non-profit organisations. Annually we distribute around 40 million euro of funding and we receive close to 8 applications every year. According to the rules and regulations of the 490 individual funds that together form the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland, we provide grants for individuals, working groups and organisations for educational and cultural purposes and activities. The association Föreningen Konstsamfundet r.f. was founded in 1940 by Mr. Amos Anderson, businessman and cultural patron. In his will, the association Konstsamfundet was regarded as his only legatee. Konstsamfundet fulfills its purpose by operating the Amos Anderson art museum, which, under the name Amos Rex, will be reopened in a new build location in Helsinki city center. According to the will and wish of our founder Amos Anderson, Konstsamfundet is as well to operate the Söderlångvik museum in Amos Anderson’s former summer residence in Dragsfjärd, Southwest Finland. Konstsamfundet’s main purposes, according to the statutes, are to support arts and different fields of culture for the Swedish speaking Finns in our society. We are providing grants for fine arts, publications, music and theater. Supporting vocational education and training, as well as the teaching of applied sciences, is likewise one of the main tasks. Konstsamfundet is also supporting newspapers and magazines published in Swedish. All grants are to be written in Swedish and applied through the electronical application system. The application periods for the public grants are in February and September.
