Givelink
Givelink is a game-changing donation marketplace, allowing donors to shop groceries for those need. We are linking people’s donations and charities’ product needs, while converting all money into goods directly, in order to minimize the risk of corrupted donation management and helping people know their impact. Our product is a mobile app & website and an in-kind donation widget, unique compared to other crowdfunding platforms. Donors can directly buy the goods charities need, know their real impact and track the donation step-by-step, making sure that their help truly reaches the people in need. Givelink collects data from charities, including their extensive needs in products, and lists them based on the fullness of those needs. This way, users can see at any time which charities need their help the most and donate. Simultaneously, we partner up with suppliers who make their products available for donations in givelink and ensure they are delivered to the selected charities regularly. After users select the charity and products they wish to donate, they get notifications regarding the whole process and can communicate directly with the charity. Once the charity receives the donated goods, donors will receive an image of the delivery along with a message from the charity. Givelink was created by four passionate 20-year-olds with the ambition to change the world by building a social but scalable business and ultimately improving philanthropy globally.

Oi Polloi
Oi Polloi is a social enterprise and arts & culture-led development agency that regenerates undermined areas by applying a new socioeconomic blueprint. Through place-based innovation, we help communities rediscover and rebuild their own purpose, identity, and financial backbone by spreading the sharing economy / commons. We call it ‘cascading civilisation’. Our aim? A renaissance of humanity – which in practical terms means developing a technology of peace, ie a community regeneration toolkit that spreads stability, prosperity, and personal agency. Instead of using shopping malls and office blocks to breathe life into neighbourhoods, we use the arts, culture, and technology. Instead of waiting for permission from up top, we go ahead and provide the stage for leading edge thinkers, practitioners, and big hearts to guide us as we reimagine how society operates. Our cultural regeneration strategy involves acquiring property of historic and cultural significance, renovating and preserving these heritage buildings, and using them as a platform / hub for education and community restoration. Our motivation We believe that humanity’s endeavours have become too far removed from values that are in harmony with the personal and greater good. We also believe it’s down to us to rewrite the rules of life. After all, humans are unique in that ‘we are able to create physical instantiations of the objects we imagine. Whereas other species are stuck with nature’s inventory.’ (César Hidalgo). Why not dare to imagine a legacy that resonates through the ages? A renaissance of humanity? Consider yourself invited.

Makerspace Lesvos
For us, a Makerspace is a place where communities come together to create understanding through creativity. Learning by doing and collaborating together on tangible activities is a unifying experience here in the intense environment of Lesvos. The Makerspace Project was born on Lesvos through cooperation between multiple partners on the premises of One Happy Family, a community center for refugees and asylum seekers near the camps on Lesvos. A concept that is basically Makerspace meets Refugees Welcome, our project works on the principle of help through self-help and education. Displaced people are faced with difficult situations, especially when living in hotspots where they are waiting for their status to be determined. Lesvos is one of these places, and a succession of provisional living spaces on this island has made the need for adaptation very necessary. To cope with the situation, people here are often in need of simple solutions that work. Apart from obvious needs such as food and shelter, the need for self-reliance is often neglected and people are pushed towards a dependent lifestyle as beneficiaries. People are sometimes held in these conditions for years before their status is determined. A prolonged period of idleness in vocational training and application of professional skills is often detrimental to future job opportunities and psychological well being. At the Makerspace, people can come and apply their skills to repair and create things that they deem necessary in their own life. They can participate in projects and workshops that we offer, such as repairing bicycles to increase mobility or repairing electronic devices to improve connectivity and recover lost data.

We Need Books
We Need Books was conceived in 2016 with the aim to encourage individuals and communities to grow and integrate through education. Our vision is to build an inclusive community and provide access to knowledge in spaces that encourage communication. So far we have created two libraries, one in Schisto and one in Kypseli in collaboration with Caritas Athens. Together they have over 1.600 books in five languages, forming the largest collection of Farsi books available in Greece and they serve a combined population of approximately 1.200 refugees. Since September 2018 we are participating in a pilot programme run by the Municipality of Athens. We have been given a space to create a small scale multilingual library! Even though the space is small (we could fit less than 1/4 of the books we have) it still has a large variety of reading material for teens and adults and an impressive children's section. We have books in over 10 languages, Greek, English, French, Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Italian, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, German and more, but most importantly, our library is open to everyone who just wants to read, reflect, or socialise!

Starfish Foundation
Starfish Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation (NGO), was born when a group of friends and neighbours came together in 2015 to assist refugees landing on the shores of Lesvos during the greatest humanitarian crisis in Europe since the Second World War. Today, we collaborate with other organisations to meet the needs of the many vulnerable individuals and families stranded in Lesvos while waiting for their petitions for asylum to be processed. Together with local and international volunteers Starfish has welcomed and helped more than people who arrived on Lesvos seeking a better life. Starfish works to better the lives of all people on Lesvos, this includes refugees and local population. At the heart of Starfish lies the belief that everyone deserves to be shown compassion, dignity, and humanity. We focus on the need for integration and relationship building and the importance of implementing practical solutions that work for all.
