Sozialmarie - Prize For Social Innovation
SozialMarie is a prize for social innovation awarded to 15 outstanding projects every year. With its first call for applications in 2004 and awarding in 2005 it has been the first prize for social innovation in Europe. Beyond a financial recognition adding up to SozialMarie primarily offers a public platform for social innovative projects in Central Eastern Europe. International right from the start, SozialMarie has acquired a solid reputation in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia. Unruhe Private Foundation, established by Wanda Moser-Heindl and Friedrich Moser in manages the prize. Beyond novelty of the idea, the SozialMarie Criteria for Social Innovation focus on involvement of different groups, effectiveness of implementation and example effect. SozialMarie awards successfully implemented projects and is a premium seal of quality for effective social innovation. To promote and disseminate exemplary projects, as well as to advance the discussion about social innovation are SozialMarie’s main goals. Regional Foundation For Local Development Zamah
The Zamah Foundation, operates in 9 counties of Central Croatia through several types of activities (programs). Through our core activity, in partnership with the National Foundation for Civil Society Development in Croatia, we provide support for local CSO-s and other organizations to enable their civic initiatives in delivering positive changes and impact in their local communities. Besides providing financial support to CSO-s, the Zamah Foundation works intensively to promote philanthropy – we raise funds from local sources (commercial, public and from individuals) and regularly organize workshops and public forums for various stakeholders in the community. Our belief is based on the work for the common good, solidarity, individual responsibility and community responsibility, equality and transparency. We strive to stimulate development of new knowledge and skills in communities; Zamah works on positive changes and development of new values; knowledge transfer and the new social products and services. Foundation Zamah believes that the key purpose of community development work is collectively to bring about social change and justice.
