The American Women's Club of Thailand is a nonpolitical, nonprofit group organized in 1955 to support American women in developing friendships and to help expatriates assimilate into the community by providing opportunities for social, cultural and philanthropic endeavors, thus fostering a positive experience living in Thailand and resulting in a positive reflection on American women. Membership is open to any woman living in Thailand, and we welcome all nationalities.

Vision: Center for Girls envisions a world where women and children are safe to live their lives in equality, with dignity and humanity. Mission: Center for Girls’ mission is to work within Chiang Rai Province to empower women and children, reduce instances of violence – particularly domestic violence and gender based violence (GBV) – and educate the populace about human trafficking issues. CFG seeks to prevent the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) and all forms of abuse against children. We are committed to creating sustainable participatory projects that equip people in the surrounding communities with the necessary life skills to become independent leaders who strive towards human rights for all, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or socioeconomic status.

Carenation

Carenation” is a social enterprise aiming to challenge the traditional ways of doing things with a creative business model that add some social benefits. Our main product is paper wreath, which we aim to replace the use of traditional flower ones. Our key social benefits are • Saving the Environment: Our wreaths are made from paper and most of the components are made from recycled and forest grown paper that are printed using soy ink. While most flower wreaths require Styrofoam to hold flowers together. • Giving jobs to underprivileged people: All the wreaths are assembled by people living in poverty. Many people are left at home with no way of earning income. We designed the paper such that it can be assembled by anyone whether they are young or old, strong or disabled. • Sustainable way of giving to charity: Because paper alternative is much cheaper than flowers, we pass on the cost reduction to good causes as we donate certain percentage of our sales to reputable charities.

Bangkok Charity Orchestra

The Bangkok Charity Orchestra (BCO) is the first orchestra to be committed to raising funds for charities in Thailand. Since its establishment at the beginning of 2010, BCO has aimed to support well-respected charities and promote classical music while at the same time serve as a platform for aspiring musicians to perform to a high standard. It has so far raised more than baht for various charitable causes. Directed by Chulayuth Lochotinan, an Oxford-trained engineer and an enthusiastic conductor who was involved in several fund raising concerts while studying and working in the UK, BCO consists of talented musicians, both music professionals and experienced amateurs. Philanthropy Connections Foundation (PCF) is a non-profit organisation that supports people in vulnerable situations. We work in partnership with local organisations in Thailand, Cambodia and Burma, who know the real problems and needs within their communities. They speak the language and know the culture, making them the ideal partners to implement projects that will address their problems. What they lack are the resources to find help from outside. That is where we help. We advise, we connect, we engage and we facilitate. We shine a light on to small, effective grassroots organisations that otherwise would remain invisible. By finding the required help for them, we enable them to do more for their communities.

Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand

WFFT was founded in 2001 by Edwin Wiek with the help of the local people from Petchaburi province, including the Abbot of Wat Khao Look Chang who loaned a large piece of land to the foundation to house rescued animals. WFFT is a NGO (non-governmental organisation). We receive help from other animal protection organisations such as the International Primary Protection League (IPPL), Free The Bears, and Care for the Wild International, as well as many individuals with a passion for change. WFFT is a nationwide effort involved in rescuing domesticated/ captive wild animals. Edwin Wiek still heads this project with the help from a team of full time staff, mostly from the local village, and a team of international volunteers who pay for their stay. Without the dedication of volunteers, WFFT would not be able to continue to help these animals. We have volunteers from all over the world. Mostly, volunteers are from Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand, with a broad age range from 18 to 75. They represent various backgrounds from gap-year students, wildlife conservation/animal husbandry related students and scientists, career- breakers and retirees. Everyone has to live and work together, so please be considerate and respectful to others and be flexible with an open mind. We are passionate about changing the habits of international tourists who visit Thailand, who unknowingly fuel the illegal trade and the exploitation and abuse of Thailand’s wildlife.

Swiss Foundation Hopehouse

The mission of the Swiss HopeHouse Foundation "Sawatdi" in ASEAN, today Thailand and Laos, tomorrow Malaysia, is to support young people so that they can and will go to school under decent circumstances and good conditions. Furthermore, we encourage and help them to continue their education through university training responding to the current requirements of the national labor market. The goal is to enable them to find a decent job, with prospects, and adequate remuneration. Support by HopeHouse is built on three pillars: Contribution to extracurricular costs, university scholarships, intensive English courses. In 1992 already, the Swiss Claude Delachaux created the private association "Sawatdi" to support deprived families in the Northeast of Thailand. In 2006, this private initiative was transformed into the registered Swiss Foundation HopeHouse "Sawatdi” and since 2016, HopeHouse is also officially registered in Thailand and operates in ISAN, near Nongkhai. Guided by the same qualitative requirements, HopeHouse also supports students in southern Laos, close to Vientiane, as well as in the South near Pakse, the capital of the province of Champassak.
