African Soul, American Heart's Mission is to PROTECT. EDUCATE. and EMPOWER. orphaned girls from South Sudan. In 2014, we were displaced from the village of Duk Payuel, Jonglei State, South Sudan by the ongoing civil war. Our boarding school was badly damaged and some buildings destroyed. We located our students in 11 refugee camps in three countries and moved them to Moyo, Uganda where we continue to operate a boarding facility, feeding, clothing, providing medical care, and loving staff, our students attend primary schools and secondary boarding schools. The ASAH program Protects these vulnerable orphaned girls from forced marriage, Educates them in school subjects and practical life skills, and Empowers them to be leaders and to give back to their communities.
