Nato nel 1992 come Portfolio in Piazza, SI FEST è oggi uno dei più importanti e longevi Festival di Fotografia in Italia, conosciuto a livello internazionale. Proposta innovativa, centrata sulla lettura aperta e pubblica dei portfolio fotografici, negli anni successivi il Festival è stato preso a modello da molte altre realtà italiane. Il SI FEST ha avuto una proficua prosecuzione annuale per giungere oggi alla sua ventinovesima edizione. Il Festival propone, oltre alla lettura dei portfolio, mostre fotografiche, atelier, workshop, premi, librerie specializzate, editoria indipendente, la sezione SI FEST OFF, video proiezioni, performance ed eventi speciali, oltre agli esiti dei progetti fotografici prodotti annualmente in ambito territoriale che documentano aspetti legati al paesaggio umano e sociale. Negli anni la manifestazione è cresciuta e si è rafforzata, dedicandosi inoltre alle programmazioni didattiche, alla ricerca e alla diffusione, conoscenza e promozione della fotografia intesa come modalità connaturata alle espressioni artistiche della contemporaneità. I direttori artistici che si sono succeduti hanno operato e svolto un’azione di consolidamento della fotografia nel tessuto della città come valore prezioso dal punto di vista identitario e culturale, patrimonio di tutta la comunità. Dal 2019 è tornato alla direzione artistica del SI FEST Denis Curti.

This year, the Festival of Ethical Photography is pleased to present the eleventh edition of the contest. Every year the contest creates a fresco that tells the stories of our Planet, its great changes and its intimate and personal relationships connecting human beings. The World.Report Award aims at a new form of social commitment through photography. The award is open to both professional and amateur photographers from all over the world. The award will give attention to works focusing on people and their social or cultural stories; public or private, minor or crucial, major human tragedies or smaller daily life stories, changes and immutability. The main focus of the evaluation of the reportages will be the story that the project tells through compelling images submitted. The awards are intended to economically support photographers who are actively engaged in this sector of photography.
