Il 19 dicembre 1948, in un'Italia in pieno fervore ricostruttivo, dopo la tragedia della guerra, veniva fondata la "Federazione Italiana Associazioni Fotografiche"(FIAF) a Torino. Lo scopo di tale federazione, al momento della nascita, era quello di divulgare e sostenere la fotografia amatoriale su tutto il territorio nazionale, creando un'associazione senza fini di lucro dove le parole, le fotografie, le amicizie dovevano ripagare il grande esercito dei fotoamatori, volenterosi non solo di fare belle immagini, ma anche di operare attivamente per la diffusione dell'arte fotografica. In cinquant'anni di storia la FIAF non ha cambiato il suo originale intento e passo passo  andata crescendo. Oggi annovera circa 5.500 associati e 550 circoli affiliati, tramite i quali raggiunge con i propri mezzi informativi le circa persone che ruotano in questi club e nutrono interesse per il mondo della fotografia. La solida struttura FIAF ha sede a Torino, sua cittˆ natale. Possiede uno statuto che regola i rapporti interni con l'organico impiegato. La sua forza vera  tuttavia la rete di fotoamatori, che con il loro apporto spontaneo ogni giorno lavorano per servire chi ha nella fotografia la sua vera, grande, passione. La FIAF  membro dell'Associazione Internationale FIAP (FŽdŽration Internationale de l'Art Photographique). Un'associazione moderna, dinamica, sempre disponibile e veramente vicina ai propri associati, perchŽ su di essi pone la propria ragione di esistere. Phmuseum

PhMuseum is a curated platform dedicated to contemporary photography. Since 2012 we have been focused to find innovative ways to display photography, engage, educate, and connect. Thanks to this approach we have been pioneering online exhibition, with the first one launched in 2013, and online education, launched in 2017. PhMuseum is well known for its program of grants, which offers in cash prizes every year, the opportunity to exhibit at international photography festivals, be featured in publications and on recognised magazines such as Vogue Italia. Max Pinckers, Diana Markosian, Tomas Van Houtryve, and Laura El-Tantawy are among the winners of the past editions, while Martin Parr (Magnum Photos), Kathy Ryan (New York Times), Roger Ballen (Photographer), and Sarah Leen (National Geographic) among the former jurors. Today we are a community of photographers reached by more than visitors per year. Our mission is to discover, support and promote photographers, working as an innovative talent incubator. Every year we present the work of around 120 photographers in our News section - and invite more than 60 to exhibit in our online exhibitions. We also feature 400 photographers on our Instagram and Facebook accounts while many photo editors, curators, and gallerists browse our Stories section every week to discover new projects or get in touch with us for recommendation at the moment of searching for works and photographers. In 2020, while everybody was eventually moving online, we approached the off-line opening the PhMuseum Lab in Bologna. Our online experience has thought us that there cannot be one without the other and the Lab will become our hub for many new initiatives. In 2021, we launched the PhMuseum Days, an international photography festival whose first edition gathered people in Bologna over a weekend of exhibitions, round tables, workshops, portfolio reviews, book fair and more.

Centro Sperimentale Di Fotografia Adams

The Cultural Association Centro Sperimentale di Fotografia Adams was founded in Rome in 1996. The Association counts nowadays more than six thousand members and its main activities are the organization of training courses and exhibitions both at national and international level. With our works we have often taken part at national and international events such as festivals of photography and cinema. From September to July, we deliver high quality training courses on various levels, including seminars and thematic workshops held by professionals. For further development of our pupils, we also organize trips and reportages abroad and cooperate with public and private bodies. We are provided with a wide range of technical equipment and facilities, that are available for our members to use: photo studios, professional flash lights, continuous light illuminators, wind machine, smoke machine, assistant, makeup artist, stylist, models, darkrooms, PC and Mac workstations, scanners, plotter for professional printing. Since 2014, C.S.F. Adams is partner of important contemporary art galleries such as Artinbox Prague and Photo Editin Berlin, with whom has organized the exhibition Czech Fundamental – Avant-garde Czech photography from 1920 until today – hold at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere under the patronage of governmental and administrative local institutions. Currently C.S.F. Adams is designing and organising international exhibitions that will be hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome and the Museum of Rome in Trastevere.

Cortona On The Move

Founded in 2011 by the Associazione Culturale ONTHEMOVE, the principal objective of Cortona On The Move is to spread and promote contemporary photography by bringing new creative talents and novel forms of visual communication to the forefront. Under the artistic direction of Arianna Rinaldo, the festival provides a continuing exchange between field experts and a ceaseless search for work which represents the ongoing evolution of the photographic language, all showcased within the enchanting Etruscan hilltown of Cortona. Cortona On The Move is a dynamic centre of contemporary photography, where experimentation and a watchful eye on the future development of visual communications are at home. Our key words are: originality of vision and authenticity in approach to the reality that surrounds us in order to narrate stories through images that reach a vast public. It is exactly this approach which has enabled us to grow rapidly to become a reference point, not only for accomplished photographers and amateurs alike, but also for a national and international audience that is attentive to contemporary cultural trends. An approach which has spawned continual growth in the number of visitors, volunteers and professionals who come to the festival. But photography isn’t the only valuable asset of Cortona On The Move. It also cherishes and promotes worthy icons of the local economy, which has made it possible, year after year, to re-open prestigious old buildings for the benefit of the town – dilapidated and abandoned buildings that have now become spectacular exhibition locations. Cortona On The Move evolves and becomes the international festival of visual narrative.
